I am all new to this Forum and I don't know, if some of this recommendations already have been made before for upcoming version of the mod.
However, I want to share these ideas with you, and welcome any kind of productive criticism.

New Gadgeds:
-Cruise Jammer
A generator that generates a powerfull energy charge, that prevents any ships within a range of 3k from engaging Cruise engines.
Costs a lot of Cargo. (200-300)
Illegal
Suggested Price 20,000,000 $
-Radar Scrambling Device.
Upon Activation, this Gadget will render a ship almost invisible to scanners. (to about >3k) It will also completely shutdown energy regeneration for the time it is activated. Cruise enginges have to be disengaged.
A nifty tool for every pirate.
Costs some Cargo (50)
Illegal
Suggested Price 5,000,000 $
-Deployable Towers
Stationary Defense Towers with limited lifetime that can be used only once. Avallable in different colors and flavors...
Suggested Price from 500,000$ - 3,000,000$
-Sensor Probes
Stationary Satellites which show any ship that enters a 10k sphere on you radar
Suggested Price 200,000$
-Ray weapons
Weapons that do a continuus damage over time but drain energy quickly. (Phaser-like)
-Radioactive Ammunition
Missle type that create a small irradiated and contaminated globe/patch that damages hull over time.
Illegal as hell.
If the next ideas sound familiar to you: They're from a *really* old but addictiong game called Escape Velocity.
-Missile Jammer
This advanced electronic countermeasures device broadcasts subspace interference waves that confuse the seeker heads of incoming missiles, causing them to track less accurately. Be forewarned, though, that torpedoes seem unaffected by such jamming.
They are installed on Weapon hardpoints.

-Shield Capacitor
Shield capacitors are energy storage modules that can increase the maximum shield capacity of any ship by xxx.
You have to sacrifice cargo Space in order to install them.

125,000 Units - 1000 Cargo - 100,000,000$
- Shield Booster
A shield booster is a dangerous and highly illegal ship upgrade, available only on seedier planets. It routes drive plasma directly from a ship's engine core to its shield generator, increasing the rate of shield regeneration. (Charge: +xx%)
Pirates and high lvl Bounty hunters only?
-Fighter Bays
This self-contained launching bay includes all the equipment needed to launch, recover, repair, and rearm a pair of NPC Fighters (or maybe bombers?)
Suggested Price around 100,000,000 $ and 1000 Cargo
Only on certain Transports, Liners, and Dattleships
Mission Variety:
I've seen a lot of missions, but they are all quite the same.
Now i know what you are thinking:
This has been the problem to the original Game and on an RP its up to you to find interesting peaople and encounter interesting situations.
But fact is: to get the **** (ship) you want to fly you often have to rep for several hours which has nothing to do with roleplay AT ALL
And this part could be made more interesting, even with some little adjustments.
Take the anti capship missions:
Right now they are not to well balanced.
I think at this time there is a poor variety and in these missions either you got plenty of fighters,
or several ossies to fight against.
-Add some anti capship missions for other factions apart from BHG and Corsairs/Outcasts. Other factions have capships too, or they would not be bulding/selling them.
If you are repping for RM, why dont you throw in some missions, where the hessians have captured some gunboat like ship and you have to destroy it.
-Add some different Station models. For now we have the Large Space staion and the weapons platform. Isn't it possible to add some other models that have different charactersistics like HP, hotspots, towers.
-Add some rewards: More Money or Maybe one of the stations has a storage full of cardamine!?
-Add some easy to code missions like:
-Cargo dump. Waste disposal (could be done with a "/") Maybe into an asteroid field or into the sun...
-Prison Transport/VIP Transport wildly getting attacked by npcs but well paid.
-Escort freighter.
-Espionage (take some pictures of a certain base)
-Sabotage-Destroy a depot near a NPC main base)
-Jack Bauer Mission - Bring an bomb to a Station and get the hell away before it blows up, and kills everybody..
forever!! *beep**beep*
---Or it least it makes docking impossible for a certain amount of time and displays to every player which played dropped the bomb.
This will place a bount yon your head.
Concerning the ongoing war, it would be interesting to have some destructable / damageable stations.
I am thinking about some of the border stations, like this captured Battleship in Orbit of Kiel (which name it forgot)
Destroying or damaging a station would ruin you rep permanently.
