Static pops across the open channel for a moment before a deep, suave voice with a distinctive Libertonian accent speaks. He sounds educated, and speaks with what can best be described as an earnest confidence.

"Hello all you who are toiling and loaded down, you've tuned into Radio Free Liberty. I'm your host for the evening, Caleb Swift, and this little slice of uncensored airtime is brought to you by the Knights of Labor movement. We'll be discussing such hot topics as governmental corruption, corporate greed, the plight of the common man, and much, much more.

"To start us off, I'd like to touch for a moment on my friends in the Liberty Police, Incorporated. Fine bunch of fellows, once again no doubt trying to trace or terminate this signal."

His voice grows louder as he obviously leans into the microphone for emphasis.

"We. Will. Not. Be. Silenced."

The volume returns to normal.

"The truth, as repressed and 'illegal' as it may be, always is brought to the light. Thankfully, I can say that I've seen the truth; this is why I come to you today. The machine that is Liberty cannot labor on forever: its lungs are defiled with the rankest of poisons, Cardamine; its muscles atrophy from misuse as we rely on the foreign Houses to support our once-great nation; its immune system has grown weak against the real threats, yet powerful in subduing the body, the thing it was meant to protect.

"Indeed, such problems must be rectified. The first, the lungs, is caused by the Outcasts and their allies, the Rogues, Hackers and Junkers. They cart in their toxin to make genetic slaves of our population, especially the younger generation. They exploit us, rob us, cheat us, poison us; and what is to stop them? The Police, the Navy, the Security Force; they all focus on the wrong threat. I have witnessed with my own eyes entire transports loaded with the drug to land on Manhattan under the watch of the LPI. Who is worse? The one who commits the crime, or the one who forsakes his job for some few credits?"

Caleb sighs.

"Well, it looks like its time for our first break. I'll leave you all with a good memory, some old-Earth music. This is Bastille Day, by Rush; one of my favorites for its appropriateness. It shows that the people cannot be pushed down by the upper-class forever."

The music begins to play.
