A little something I noticed. People only post their victories on your message dump, almost never their defeats. In-roleplay this would be a very stupid idea for 3 reasons:
1. You can't look back at your defeat, learn why you lost the battle, and correct that mistake. Therefore you repeat your mistakes, and lose again because of it.
2. Since you failed to report that gunboat # 193 was destroyed, your accountants still think that you have that gunboat. This can add up to a gross overestimate of your ship reserves as well as a chronic headache for your accountants.
3. You have no realistic assessment of your progress with the war on the Outcasts. You could be losing and not know it. Even if you are still winning, you will think that you have more tactical superiority then your enemy, which is not as true as you think, leading to unnecessary losses, which also leads back to reason 1 and 2.
Now, I know factions can't be expected to post every single battle on the message dump. But major defeats kinda need to be recorded, for the reasons stated above. The reasons above trump most reasons to not report your defeats. Now, failing a highly classified operation is a reason not to report anything. But you guys are not the LSF, your operations are generally more visible then that. "Top Secret" would be the public not knowing about you guys fighting the outcasts at all
Trying to fool the media/public? Then keep your defeats classified. But record them!
