if this is not the case, you better be prepared for me making a char that has been dumb and deaf since birth and has a sickness called " triggerhappy mouse button pressing". either this mod is about RP or it is not. there is no way another player chan ceck if someone is contacting his buddies or not - so he is on the save side when limiting RP to the minimum and shooting the other player bevore the balance turns. there is generally nothing wrong with calling for aid, but in the end, when a 1 - 1 situation turns into a 1 - 5 situation i can GURANTEE you there will be NO more RP, but just a shooting contest.
well, not a primarily problem of mine since I tend to avoid confronation generally, but i can remember the days when MMORPGs needed the acceptance of the players to start PvP. which is actually a good thing - "Do you want to accept the PvP invitation? Yes/No". FL never was intended to be a RP game, and this mod isnt one too - there are just a bunch of rules that prevent ppl from shooting each other on sight.
Ive seen people complain that using CDs in a fight is unfair. It can't be made into a hard and fast and enforceable rule.

This is often the means to an end being that, by the rules, you (meaning anyone) won the fight, even though by common sense, you lost. Doing something to frustrate your foes generally also frustrates the player behind the character. I would suggest in this case, instead of wasting everybody's time, simply docking and going somewhere else.
Now I wouldn't be saying this if bases were destructible, because if they were, then the attackers would have another choice to penalise you. Instead of shooting you, shooting the base which you intend to land on. As it stands however, you lose nothing when you circle a base properly.
Importantly, there is a distinction to be made.
It is not unsporting to use the environment to your advantage.
But I believe that it is unsporting to not provide your enemy with a way to win by the rules this game is played by currently.
This is the entire point about ganking. Not providing your enemy with a way to win.
It's a grey area, in my experience. By frustrate I mean that I find I generally have more patience in a fight than many more eager and aggressive players. (probably my undoing as well though).
I'd happily circle a base for as long as it took to deplete an enemy's regens before attempting to finish him off. He chose to put himself in that position. They can and do turn the odds in many a battle. I'd run to one for cover in order to buy time, only if I thought I could last long enough. If someone is landing shots despite the base, circling it is just suicide. It's not so much about depriving the enemy of a win as depriving a player of the blue message. It all depends on the context, but I don't like giving people the satisfaction of destroying my ship. I actually care about characters getting killed. It copuld equally be said that if someone flees, one should allow them to flee and dock (i.e. log off for four hours) on their terms. Allow them to lose gracioulsy. But like I said, that all depends on the context.
The Isis has changed the course of long running battles, as it should. I don't blame people for running to it. In fact I applaud it. Running to the Derby allowed me to avoid having to land and log off when chased by superior odds. It meant my character could play on. It also gave the message to the opponent that there were consequences to moving that far after me.
