"This way" she indicated, leading the way. Arael followed patiently, glancing at the ornaments surrounding him in the corridor.

The corridor was long and winding, apartment doors on either side, more like a hotel than a living space. Though he assumed most of these were owned by Interspace business men who dropped by whenever they needed a place to stay.

Maybe she was with Interspace, or another corperation. What would they need with me? Perhaps they needed escorts. But why would they pick fresh Ensign, and why did she pick me out in a bar of all places?

As they reached a T-junction in the corridor, Amy veered off to the right, up some elegant stairs. He hurried to catch up, his thoughts slowing his pacing.

Why wasn't she talking? Maybe she can hear me! Nah, that's crazy...

Amy stopped at the top of the stairs, it had flattened out and before them was a door, number 1004. Amy slipped in a key and unlocked it, inviting him in.
