I get so tired of AJ constantly going on and on and on and on with this subject that I'm just going to ignore what he's saying completely.

As for Punker:

Well some people can't take a beating , for example when I was a noob I spent all my savings into the cargo I had , and then Phantom comes and kills me , yes I did /Ragepm him , but its kinda lame to kill someone who has invested all of his money into something and just loses it like that. As for others, they just cant accept that its the way its supposed to be...

Did you ever think that the person RP'ing the Phantom is a person just like you? If you had so much invested in that cargo, did you:

A) ever think of pm'ing him/her and telling them your situation and asking them if they could give you a way out in RP?

B) try and RP with the Phantom?

C) Or did you just silently try and run and when you realized you couldn't escape you just started shooting?

Because honestly C is the one that we get about 99% of the time. Followed by a bunch of rage tossed at us in PM and then on the forums. And we get blamed for not RP'ing. Tell me, how does one RP all by himself? Have you tried RP'ing with a silent trader that does nothing but hold down thrust and shoot at you? Tell me about how easy it is to type RP in game when your target is constantly fleeing and his escorts or random lawfuls show up and instantly start shooting with nothing more than a "Engaging Phantom". When that happens, just about our only option is to fight or flee. Generally we fight until the odds get overwhelming, then we scatter. We then have to reconvene in the forums and read the nasty flame post in our message dump or wherever.

Punker, if you didn't play the silent trader then you could have RP'd out of the incident. I promise you could have. Failing that, if I had been there, and most of the other Phantoms I can think of, and you had asked in PM that you somehow be allowed to keep your cargo as it's all the money you have, we would have RP'd you a way out.

I'm not evil despite what AJ says. In fact I'm a rather nice guy, I'm married, have a three year old daughter, and really enjoy playing this game. Some people do nothing but try and ruin that for me because I have a Phantom. I don't let it get to me, I just continue to enjoy Freelancer and Discovery. And I promise you, I want you to enjoy it too, all of you. I will never do anything in game to intentionally ruin your experience. Try just talking to special RP characters, because despite what you say, I know most of you that are complaining don't. I think if you just try it, you might just be pleasantly surprised.
