Templeman walked into the side room and set his briefcase on the table, looking at the Prosecuting Attorney.
The recess wouldn't be long, and they were in a bad situation.
His only real recourse was to plea bargain, and he knew it.
The Prosecutor sat back in his chair and looked up at the slick lawyer.
"Seven years," He began.
Templeman shook his head, "Time served, and seven years probation. To be served in a place of our choosing..."
"So the man gets away with it...?"
"No, but I can promise you that the Naggar's will never trouble Rheinland again." Templeman shrugged. "This trial is a nightmare publicity wise. I am offering you a victory here, and the chance not to send a child to prison."
"I'll let the child walk," the Prosecutor stated. "But Naggar has to spend some time behind bars..."
Templeman nodded, "But we get to choose the location of the cell?"
The Prosecutor shrugged, "five years... parole after two."
Templeman drew out the papers, "agreed... just sign there..."
The prosecutor obliged. Signing the documents.
"And where is this cell going to be?" he asked out of curiosity.
"The kid walks, and Msiter Naggar spends the next two years in his quarters aboard the Zoner Vessel Med Force One," Templeman said, smiling as he waggled the signed documents. "looking after his grandson, and being a good father to his children."
"That's..." the Prosecutor sputtered.
"That's the law," Templeman stated. Walking out of the room, glad that it was finally over.
