I jumped in for a patrol about a hour ago after I got a distress signal from Ensigns Fredericks and Corbin. They reported sighting of a Bounty Hunter Thresher class destroyer near Freeport 11 where they were conducting routine scans. I flew in there with my bomber along side Captain Magnus of the Order|CV Kuk Hathor. Order|Stingray reinforced us as well a little while later with his bomber. Once we got there, we sat around the NFZ for a while until the enemy destroyer left, at which point Sgt. callsign Stingray put me in charge of a patrol operation throughout Delta.
I ordered everyone to form up on my craft and we first headed over to the Kappa jump hole. Once we were near the jump hole, we detected another Bounty Hunter on our scanners. Stingray asked me what we should do, and I promptly mentioned that our fight was against the Nomads, not humans. We ignored the Bounty Hunter, who did the same.
After that, I set way points around Planet Tuvulu. Stingray noticed that Ensign Corbin was missing. It turned out that he had jumped across to the other side of the Kappa hole by mistake, and we waited a few minutes till he got there. I guess I should've relayed those orders much more clearly to prevent something like this. We, or Ensign Corbin could've been ambushed by our enemies in a situation like that.
We continued our patrols after we regrouped with Ensign Corbin. Tuvulu was clear so we headed back to the Omicron Minor jump hole where we were ambushed by Nomads and Bounty Hunters. During this time my ship was hit by an Ion wave and I lost connection with my neural net interface, so I had assumed we were engaged by Nomads and such judging by what the other pilots said. Once we were clear, we proceded to jump to the other side. Unfortunately, I jumped first straight after giving the Order. Captain Magnus corrected me and told me to wait until everyone else was done jumping, and then to move on ahead. Once we jumped to the other side, we were hit by some Nomads and Bounty Hunters, but we managed to take care of them. After that, we gave the clear ahead for the Kuk to jump over to the other side.
After we were done fighting the nomads at the Delta hole in Minor, Stingray asked me what we should do when encountering Nomads. I replied saying that we should take them out as fast as possible and then bring in the remaining nomad materials to Planet Toledo where they would be handed over to the Order Research Division for, well, research.
We were hit by a few more nomad and bounty hunter patrols as we went along but they were nothing to serious. After we were done with the patrols, Stingray dismissed us and I docked to Planet Toledo to write up this report.
