- Bounty Hunters Guild - The Bounty Hunters Guild originally began in Texas but has spread to almost every system in Sirius, providing a broad array of security-oriented services for a reasonable fee. A powerful and well-organized elite of Bounty Hunters known as the Guild Core is eager to explore Nomad space in search of alien artefacts and technologies that can be found there. Having nearly limitless resources, the Core initiated a bloody war with The Order to gain passage to remote Nomad systems.

- Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing - Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) is one of the largest commercial concerns in Bretonia, a network of semi-autonomous operations that range throughout Bretonian space.
- Bretonia Police - Officers in the Bretonia Police Authority are well-trained, well-armed, and widely considered to be a bastion of incorruptibility.
- Colonial Remnant - The Colonials are descended from a group of human colonists, who left the Solar System prior to the war between the Alliance and the Coalition in then experimental sleeper ship prototypes. Forced to abandon their initially colonised worlds due to a natural disaster, they made their way to Sirius and ultimately settled in the remote Tau systems. Possessing a sizeable military and economy, they have since became one of the most serious threats to Outcast smuggling operations in the area as well as one of Bretonia's competitors for influence in the resource rich Tau border worlds.
- Freelancers - Freelancers don't belong to any of the Sirius factions. They work for themselves, seeking new worlds and systems, glory and fame, money, or just trying to survive in a universe full of dangers. One of the most well-known freelancers is Edison Trent, hero of the Nomad war (799-802 A.S.), knight of the Lone Star.
- Gas Mining Guild - The Gas Mining Guild (GMG) is a tight-knit professional organization that acts as the primary supplier of H-Fuel to the four major Houses.
- Gateway Shipping - Gateway Shipping is a Bretonian firm catering to smaller companies that hauls raw materials across the Border and Independent Worlds.
- Hogosha - The Hogosha are a quasi-legal organization that ostensibly exists to promote the "welfare and prosperity of the Kusari people." Hogosha have influential agents inside Samura, Kishiro and even in the Kusari government. However, the organization is heavily dependent on the Corsair's supply of artefacts and their military power.
- Independent Mining Guild - The Independent Mining Guild (IMG) is a loose confederation of miners who work those fields that have thus far remained undeveloped by the larger mining companies. Conflict between IMG and BMM in Tau space was one of the primary causes of the war between Bretonia and Kusari.
- Junkers - Junkers are an itinerant population of unknown origin who comb debris fields looking for scrap and equipment that can either be repurposed or sold for cash. Junkers are rumored to be much more powerful than most think, but their role in remarkable events of Sirius history remains undiscovered. Nowadays, Junkers are one of the few unlawful factions that preserve neutrality in the war between Corsairs and Outcasts.
- Kishiro Technologies - Kishiro Technologies is one of the great Kusari keiretsu -- sprawling, vertically integrated companies that control whole industries.
- Kusari Naval Forces - The Kusari Naval Forces is highly organized and possesses all of the considerable technological advantages inferred by Kusari industry.
- Kusari State Police - The Kusari State Police is a disciplined force of career personnel assigned to guard the borders of Kusari space and protect Kusari commercial interests.
- Orbital Spa and Cruise - Orbital Spa and Cruise operates an array of resorts and luxury liners throughout the Sirius Sector.
- The Order - The Order is a powerful covert organization that controls several remote Omicron systems. They played an important role in the war against the Nomads (799-802 A.S.). Shortly after, they allied with the Corsairs who assisted with building ships and training new pilots in exchange for cutting-edge Order technology. Current goals include keeping the Nomad worlds under control and preventing the Liberty Navy and Bounty Hunters guild from taking over Omicron Minor and The Order home planet, Toledo.
- Planetform, Inc. - Planetform Inc. specializes in the terraforming of non-viable planets in Bretonia and elsewhere.
- Samura Industries - Samura Industries is one of the great Kusari keiretsu -- sprawling, vertically integrated companies that control whole industries.
- Synth Foods, Inc. - Synth Foods is the Liberty firm responsible for the revolutionary Food product Synth Paste and a highly successful line of Food-producing biodomes.
- Zoners - Zoners are a diverse group of individuals who, for various reasons, have decided to live in the wild and unregulated systems outside colonial control. Over time the Zoners have evolved into an influential and rich faction that invests a lot into deep space exploration, much like The Order. When The Order allied with Corsairs, Zoner relations with the Outcasts became no less tense than with the Corsairs. However, the Zoners of Omicron Theta felt they were powerful enough to defend themselves from both factions and, to this day, skilfully use the antagonism between Outcasts and Corsairs for their own benefit.
Unfriendlies:
- Blood Dragons - The Blood Dragons are a terrorist organization supposedly descended from the royal guard of Shogun Hideyoshi -- deposed during a coup several centuries before -- and are dedicated to the overthrow of the current Kusari government. Now, the Dragons oppose Hogosha and Corsair influence in Kusari with the help of their allies, the Outcasts and Golden Chrysanthemums.
- Farmers Alliance - The Farmers Alliance is a Kusari political organization formed to lobby for government subsidies and restrictions on the sale of foreign Food. Based in Kyushu system, they are the main allies of the Hogosha in Kusari space.
- Gaians - The Gaians are a terrorist faction opposed to any alteration to the natural environment of a planet, specifically those brought about through terraforming. Many of the modern Gaians are ordinary criminals and pirates who consider an alliance with the Corsairs to be the best way to ensure their survival.
- Golden Chrysanthemums - The Golden Chrysanthemums are a terrorist organization seeking to the overthrow the Kusari government and institute a matriarchy. Short-term goals include helping the Outcasts and Blood Dragons to free Kusari from the Corsair influence.
- Mollys - The Mollys are a separatist group committed to freeing the Dublin system from Bretonian rule through attacks on civilian, commercial, and military targets. In recent years they have been increasingly active in resisting local Corsair expansion.
- Outcasts - The Outcasts originated from a group of Hispania sleeper ship survivors that settled on Malta. For hundreds of years, the Outcasts fought a war with another group of Hispania survivors known as the Corsairs; the cause of the war remains unknown. Now, the Outcasts lead a powerful pirate coalition to resist Corsair expansion and defend Cardamine trade routes.
Enemies:
- Ageira Technologies - Ageira Technologies is one of the "Big Three" Liberty companies and is responsible for the development of Jump Gate and Trade Lane technology.
- Bundschuch - The Bundschuh are a populist political faction that has been declared "enemy of the State" by the Rheinland Reichstag. Attempts to gain amnesty from Chancellor Steller after the Nomad War have failed, and while many Bundschuh are still faithful to their political goals and ideas, others have turned to piracy or contract jobs provided by their Red Hessian allies.
- Corsairs - The Corsairs originate from a larger group of Hispania sleeper ship survivors that landed on planet Crete. They are believed to be the largest criminal organization operating in Sirius -- frequently attacking civilian, commercial, and even military targets. Now, the Corsairs and their allies are fighting a Sirius-wide war for power and influence with an old enemy, the Outcasts, and their supporters.
- Deep Space Engineering - Deep Space Engineering has an exclusive contract with fellow Liberty company Ageira Technologies to build Jump Gates and Trade Lanes throughout the Sirius Sector.
- Interspace Commerce - Interspace Commerce (IC) is one of the "Big Three" Liberty companies and insures cargo carried within the colonies and into the Border Worlds.
- LWB - The LWB, or Landwirtrechtbewegung (farmers' rights movement), is believed to be engaged in attacks on Synth Foods operations and sympathetic government officials in retaliation for Rheinland concessions to the Liberty Food conglomerate. This faction is a faithful ally of the Hessians, therefore considered hostile by the Corsairs. However, the LWB attempts not to interfere into the war between Corsairs and Outcasts and stay neutral towards groups that joined either alliance.
- Lane Hackers - The Lane Hackers are a criminal group with the technical expertise to monitor and disrupt Trade Lanes for the purpose of seizing valuable cargo. The powerful alliance between Lane Hackers, Liberty Rogues and Outcasts serves as the dominant unlawful force in Liberty space and most Independent Worlds.
- Liberty Navy - The Liberty Navy is responsible for protecting the economic well-being of Liberty through military force, both within the boundaries of the colony and in the independent systems that border its territory.
- Liberty Police, Inc. - Liberty Police, Inc. (LPI) is a private company that handles the policing of Liberty space to interdict the importation of contraband and to prevent attacks on civilian and commercial traffic.- Liberty Rogues - From a motley assortment of Liberty criminals, the Liberty Rogues have evolved into highly organized and powerful pirate faction operating in Liberty space and surrounding Independent Worlds. The Rogues are the key allies of the Outcasts in this region and maitain close ties with Mollys of Dublin and Newcastle.
- Liberty Security Force - The Liberty Security Force (LSF) is the intelligence branch of the Liberty Armed Forces, operating in secrecy to ensure the free flow of goods and services in the Liberty economy.
- Nomads - The Nomads are organic guardians left behind by an ancient alien civilization. Over thousands of years, Nomads evolved into well-organized beings, forming a civilization of their own. However, the evolution could not eliminate predatory instincts and aggressiveness of this race. Nomads treat all other species, except for their former masters, as hostile.
- Phantoms - The Phantoms are a small terrorist organization, utilizing advanced technology and vicious tactics to achieve their objective. Stated goals are the elimination of the corrupt House governments, although rumors persist of darker motives. The Phantoms are feared even by pirate groups with whom they contact to get supplies, resources, and information.
- Red Hessians - The Red Hessians are a numerous and well-organized criminal group composed largely of unemployed miners operating out of Rheinland space who attack civilian and commercial targets of opportunity. The Hessians are fighting a bloody war with the Corsairs for domination in Omega systems and Rheinland space, a war that has already cost thousands of lives from both sides and is nowhere near ending.
- The Coalition - A group of descendants of the Coalition nations who escaped Sol on board of the overloaded Hispania Sleeper Ship, the modern-day Coalition occupies one remote Omega system, faithful to its traditions, but unable to influence the events that change the political map of the Sirius Sector in any significant way.
- The Wild - During the Nomad War (799-802 A.S.), a large fleet of Rheinland invaded Kusari. When ultimate victory was near, news about coup d'etat in Rheinland forced the Nomad-infested officers and soldiers to flee home. Scattered by GMG and Red Hessians on their way back, they had no chance of overthrowing the new government. Now known as The Wild, they settled in a remote Omega system, building more ships and gathering forces. The Wild are merciless predators who attack any lawful and unlawful ships that get into their way.
- Unioners - The Unioners are an outlaw group composed of dispossessed Rheinland shipyard workers who engage in brutal reprisals chiefly against Republican Shipping. Expansion into the Independent Worlds changed agenda of most Unioners from terrorism to piracy. Disappointed with results of their former alliance with the Corsairs and trying to maintain friendly relations with other unlawful groups of Rheinland, the Unioners are one of the pirate factions that did not choose any side in the war between the Outcasts and the Corsairs.
- Universal Shipping - Universal Shipping is one of the "Big Three" Liberty companies and specializes in the shipping of high-risk, high-value cargo.
- Xenos - The Xenos are a loosely affiliated terrorist organization opposed to any trade or other interaction with foreign entities. In recent years the Liberty Police Inc. was effective in suppressing Xeno activity with many Xeno pilots either killed or captured. Xeno leaders are desperately seeking alliances with other unlawful factions of Liberty to survive.
