Chapter 2

In the fields of Pennsylvania, lay our lone protagonist, Hakun'Rai. The jump from the system Unknown had been successful. He was in a debris field now, away from everybody. There was no going back...

The first thing he remembers happening; was a flurry of Dark ships pouring in to destroy him, the voices still echoed through his mind.

"Got a bandit on my six"

"Target is primed and I'm ready"

A barrage of spitfire pounded against his vessel. Burt after burst of pure plasma disintegrated against his veil. Hakun'Rai knew The Dark were relentless in fighting the Nomads but he never knew to such extent! He fled through the field, dodging missile after missile and sped off out of the asteroids.



Hakun'Rai flew through the system, the Lightsong telling him a Jumphole was nearby. Dodging the occasional Dark patrols he swiftly made his way through to California. One of the best places to observe was in the system the Dark called "New York", so the Adviser had told him once. While on his way he made his first true contact, with one of the Dark...



The Dark rebuked him, even though he came in peace. His efforts were in vain, searching through his head and listening to his statements Hakun'Rai could only find fear, anger and hatred boiling in his brain. He had little time before the Dark had made up his mind and decided to unload on him the kind of spitfire that the patrols could never have unleashed. His last memory was of a brilliant green tachyon burst hurtling toward his ship.




Meanwhile, back in the mindshare....

Hakun'Rai shuddered from this violent disconnect from his physical form. His consciousness quickly recovered, however; and he began to speak with the Adviser.

***So now you see what the Dark thinks of 'Us'***

***.They.....are indeed a vicious people.***

***.Which is why 'We' fight them, and to free Sirus from the grip of their dead hand.***

***.I still feel as if I have learned very little.***

***.So it has come to 'our' attention, my predictions show that little good shall be found with these Dark.***

***.I still must know....if all are truly like that.***

***.There is more than enough information stored in the Lightsong to confirm that.***

***.Individual experience is the best kind of learning...***

***.So it is, 'We' are growing a new 'ship' for you. You shall see the true face of the Darkness.***
