A man--presumably another bartender--came up to Lavinia and Kane with two plates, a hot, juicy steak on each. He set one plate down in front of Lavinia, and the other in front of Kane. He placed utensils in the correct positions on either side of the table, and said, "It's fresh, cooked, and hot all the way through. Have a nice evening," before walking off.
Kane looked at Lavinia.
"Well, I hope you enjoy it," he said. "The Rogues usually whip up nice meals for paying bar customers, so it won't be bad, that's for sure."
