All in all, it will favor team play, and make mercs and BH's to get real jobs instead of just sitting there doing nothing.
Wouldnt this contribute to the evolution of roleplay spirit? Roleplay should not only mean various faction aligned groups having battles. If piracy is something to be respected -since its included in the roleplay-traders should be less greedy and hire escorts if there exist pirates within their trade routes. Thus, the word mercenary would attain its true meaning.
I advocate the idea to unable people change characters while they are in an event. Trying to evade a pirate is reasonable and fast docking after evading them should mean you are trapped down there. If you still want to go out and continue trading, you have to pay them or face the consequence. But unlogging the trader and logging in a bs and engaging them in the same system while they dont have a mere chance to move is a big NO.
1. This ruins the roleplay spirit and turns the event into a pvp whorage.
2. Piracy is something already harder than simple trading and such events would contuse the inclination of people planning to make piracy, thus a vital element of opposing factors would be enforced to diminish.
3. Engaging pirates before they have the chance to know or guess what kind of ship you are in and eliminating them before they have enough time to consider their next step of act is completely UNfair.
4. Whatever the tag of both ships are and whoever they are aligned to I say we should count every event as a single one which means a player shouldnt be able to log in another character until the event is "completely" over. However there can be various examples which still wait to be inspected.
5. The possibilities that may occur are as follows,
a) the trader can not evade pirates and refuses to pay and gets killed - one death means the event is over, and trader can log in another character though the new character that is being logged on should be at least one system away. To give your opponent chance and make it more fair. Otherwise an instant undocking of a battleship and laying waste outside is as i already stated before not nice.
b) the trader can not evade pirates and accepts to pay and pirates leave him for the time being he is making his runs -the event is again over and trader can change characters but still changing characters should not mean an instant avenge of the recent event. You could always avenge if you wish very much so and you can do it another time. We should respect the events and let them happen.
c) the trader evades pirates and makes an instant dock, pirates leave the system with getting no pay. To stop or continue trading without any escorts or with escorts is upto the trader though he could still face piracy if pirates are around his trade routes and in another system. If trader wants to log in another character he needs to make sure that it is NOT in the same system with the pirates. And for the pirates its upto them to either wait the trader outside and oppress him or just simply leave the system and let him free. Though the time for waiting the trader should be limited to an exact period, otherwise it would turn into a system camping activity which is already not approved and appreciated.
These are my opinions of course and the last word will be always stated by the administrating squad. However, we could and should always inspect and share our opinions about similar examples for contributing to a better state of roleplay.
Every opinion and addition is respected and thanks
