Switching characters will get you badly fined. (and by badly i mean at least 50% of your credits, and possibly your ship converted into a starflier).
Thank you Korrd... I see no difference between this tactic and F1 in space. It destroys the pirate RP experience and is a loophole that traders have exploited. I also agree that this tactic slaps of PVP whoring.

Yes, but a pirates tend to seek out the calf that strays from the herd. So, all you greedy, rich traders need to start spending some of that mega-cash you're makin to defend yourself. Quit using this cheap non-RP tactic.
I'm all for the Mercs and BH getting jobs. I've always wanted to fly a Manta. :)
EDIT: And this "I docked and ran to my battleship" excuse is hogwash. You can put words to anything to make it SOUND like its in RP. But all you do is make people angry.
