His second visit to Alcatraz in a month. Roger Claymore rarely visited the same place so regularly, especially one so out of his way. His area of pirating was the Omegas, Dublin and the Taus. Nowhere near Liberty. But Roger liked to keep his connection to the Rogues alive and strong. He would always be one of them, deep down. That's why he always said he was "spreading the Rogue spirit". The pirates of Sirius could learn a lot from the Rogues.
But the reason Roger came back to Alcatraz again was for the view of California. It reminded him of the few times he had actually pirated on the trade lanes on the system. And when nothing was happening, staring at Mojave or California Minor or the ice fields. Reminded him of his younger years.
And he had also come to check on the politics of the Rogues. He rarely cared, but he had heard some things which were of some internet. Sylpheed going into hiding. Clif being arrested. The littl' bugga didn't even pass on ma idea...
But if anybody cared if Roger was there, then he'd talk to them. But if not, then he'd just have a drink and a steak and enjoy the view. The bar gave its usual aura, smelling of drinks and urine and burnt gunpowder. Roger took in a deep breath, trying to determine how old the gunpowder was. Not too old at all.
He spotted a few groups. Most of them were drunk Rogues having the time of their life, telling stories and playing drinking games. He spied two men sat at a table, having a conversation that wasn't slurred by being too drunk. An unconscious man lay close to the table. Roger grinned and took it all in, then moved toward a table by the window, and stared out at the view with relaxed eyes. He expected no problems with his visit.
