So you don't want combat to be related to skill, just say it like that then.
In your world you want:
Player1: I in fighter. *click on bomber* Boom bomber dead because Fighter>Bomber:)
Player2: I in fighter *click on player1* *coin flipped* Boom player one lost toss, he is now dead because Fighter=Fighter and player1 lost toss.
etc etc.
This is just stupid, to make "pro" equal to "noobs" because the noobs dont wana hone their skills.
The current system is VERY balanced. All one must do is learn to fly their type of ship to its potential.
