It might sound harsh - but a lot of this airy-fairy talk of pacifism ignores the truth of history.

In times of conflict, people look for scapegoats - people to blame. Crete is light years away for the man or woman, or community. There are also strategic reasons to target such minorities. Members of the group might be perceived as spies. The state may covertly endorse harassment of the minority group in order to exert political pressure on the hostile power.

Do people not read the news?
Remember the wars?
Remember the vilification of Arabs during the Gulf Wars?
The treatment of 'slopes' during Vietnam?
Remember the internment of Japanese-American citizens (yes thats right - full citizens not just foreign nationals) during WW2?
During times of conflict - minorities are a guaranteed target.

No we cant play out street riots and killings on a planet in-game.
Yes GC could play a much more important socio-political role in terms of Corsair-Zoner diplomacy.
