After Action Report
Name: Gerard Boiselle
Rank: Sous-Lieutenant
Operation Type: Standard Patrol
Area of Operations: Dauphine, Burgandy
Time: 2100 – 0110
Other Participants:
Captain Michelle Picard
Commandant Aubert Giroux
2100: After launching from Avallon station at 2100 to begin my patrol shift, I was summoned by Captain Michelle Picard to high orbit over Nevers. There, a pair of Sirian Junkers were attempting to move through the system. The Captain drove both of them off shortly after I arrived. We began to assume normal patrol duties when a Council propaganda artist started to flood the communication channels of Burgundy with their rhetoric.
2145: At this point long range sensors on Nevers picked up the signature of a council pilot moving rapidly towards the Nouvre asteroid field. We moved to follow, but he managed to make it into the safety of the field, and as we were but two lynx, we erred on the side of caution.
2200: After a few minutes of verbal sparring between the captain and the council member, we were joined by Commandant Aubert Giroux. After summing the situation up for the commandant, he ordered us into the field.
2204: After approaching what seemed to be a large hollowed out asteroid, the council member continued to taunt us. Two more pilots launched, and after a brief exchange of insults between the captain, the commandant, and the treasonous dogs, battle was joined.
~2300: After my ship sprung a coolant leak, I decided to offer myself as a sacrifice in order to allow the captain and commandant a better shot at destroying the hostiles by flying in one direction and forcing the opponents (who were targeting me) to fly in a mostly straight line. It seemed to work.
2330: captain and commandant managed to destroy one of the pilots, and then swiftly after, another. The final pilot ran back to the hollow asteroid field, and we were ordered out of the field.
2350: Her Royal Highness Alice DeFrance joined the squadron communication channel to congratulate us on a job well done.
~0000: The captain and commandant were finishing their patrol, and while doing so I stopped over on Nevers in order to patch my coolant leak (See attached inventory stub and mechanics report) and to visit the military clinic to make sure the coolant had caused no permanent damage (see attached medical report).
0020: After being cleared, I launched and resumed patrol.
0025: Her Royal Highness Alice DeFrance left the communications channel.
0030: The captain was preparing to dock for the evening when she received a strange report from Dauphine, and I volunteered to investigate the situation. The commandant joined me, and I acted as point as we did a quick scan of the system. Nothing unusual was found, and the commandant docked and signed off for the evening shortly after the sweep.
~0050: I was returning to Avallon when I noticed a strange IFF on my scanners, and found a sirian trade ship named Gilgamesh heading for Alesia Station. My scanners and computer both confirmed my ships load out was incapable of damaging the ship, so instead I did my best to delay him. Luckily, the battleship Nantes was on its way to Nevers on its patrol route, and, working with the captain, we set up an ambush.
0100: The Commandant and Captain both launched in heavier ships, and swore to escort the merchant ship unmolested to the border. I moved to the middle of the trade lane between Nevers and Dijon Station, where the Nantes waited.
0105:As soon as the trader reached that area, I disrupted the tradelane, and the Nantes opened fire, destroying the ship and her crew. No further incidences between then and my dock at Avallon station.
0110: Docked and signed off (see attached flight officers report).
