And lose your cloud of ore? Seems like an expensive method. May as well be in a Hegemon, at least you'd have a full hold. Also, Cruisers and above are within their rights to shoot you.

I don't imagine it was an oversight, but rather a choice, since it shows up for both of the unlawful mining factions.
