I have one of those as a mining Molly too and all I can say is that I turn towards Arranmore as soon as something potentially hostile shows up that is smaller than a cruiser. If I can evade any fights until I'm there I can switch to my GB. (and it's not hard to stay 10k ahead of your enemy when flying the few k from the mining field to the base)
