i was there, too today. the battleship name was felhunter ( i hope its no unspoken rule to never name a player ) we had quite a discussion about whats in roleplay and out of roleplay. and it turned out ( to me ) that he had no understanding of it whatsoever.
- he said he wouldn t want to leave theta - cause it took him 30 min to fly though gamma asteroids ( i do understand that one on a out-of-roleplay basis, but .... well, in terms of roleplay, a weak argument )
- he put his ship into the foreground of his gameplay before his role. ("that ship cost me 400mio, of course i am a nomad") thats no real quote - but thats how it sounded.
- he liked to fly that ship, cause he liked the stats, rather than the role that is linked to it.
it was suggested to him to leave for the pvp server if stats and "owning" others was so important - which he answered with "i can t log in there" ( no comment ... )
what concerns me is - he was very resistant to any attempt to roleplay. ( and i think he had no idea how to roleplay that nomad battleship at all ) - but he is lvl 81 - saved up over 400mio + at least 75 mio, cause he had 3 heavy mortars mounted ( which are REALLY out of roleplay on a nomad ship, cause they are ORDER WEAPONS.. as far as i know ) he was on the server for quite some time - even if you ignore most roleplay, you get a good general idea of how it works when you safe up 400 mio.
*** unless you do the tau - 1 trade route *** ( i know i pointed out how much i hate that one )
i didn t see any trace of "responsibility" that comes with buying such a ship. -
ps: i was quite shocked about [aw], too btw. - instead of opening fire AT ONCE. they went into a friendly chat - about it.. not what i expect a guardian of theta to act when a nomad battleship pops up at freeport 9. ( just a sidenote - and yes, since i m a rather independant zoner, i don t approve what AW is doing .. in a very roleplayish way of course
