-----SUBJECT: Border World Exports Application (Form 8209-2727)-----
There's a handful of attachments to the application, mostly official documents such as tax returns and licences, but one's entitled -PLEASE RED THIS FIRST-. Opening it shows a basic text message.
Firstly, a quick explanation before you read that form. I'm applying for not just myself, but my crew of four aswell (five people total). All their relevant applications are enclosed, but we work as a team, and have agreed this move is right. The only thing I will note is that our contract of employment must state that we be kept together, or we will not agree to it. Also, please note we are applying to transfer from Bowex's contracted division, again, all relevant form and such are attached. //Basically, contracted as in, Bowex has part-funded the current ship in exchange for a percentage of the profits.
From the five applications;
Tyler Skye
Carl Reed
Shaun Barrett
Talon Hill
Nathan Hill
The first application is the captain, Tyler's.
- What is your full name?
Tyler James Skye
- Where do you live?
No. 11
Thatcher Street
Downing Ditrict
Whitehall City
Planet New London
- Where was your last place of employment? What experience do you have?
Currently under contract with Bowex, with partial ownership of a single cargo ship, and hence a partial share of net profits. As for experience, I ran Skye Shipping, a small transport business for 6 years. Well, I say business, It was basically just me on my own with a pipe dream that I was more than a Freelance trader. But regardless, I've been working for Bowex as a contractor now for 2 years, and now we're here.
- To what division are you applying?
Shipping
- Do you already own a ship? If so, what kind? If it is not listed above, can you afford one of the ones listed?
Ah, here's the cinch. No. It was an old ship and got caught in a crossfire above Planet New London when some Mollies attacked. I can send all the necessary reports if you need. However, according to the contract liaison officer, if we sign up for the official shipping division and go to a salary and all, there's a Shetland just coming out of the machines at Scarborough they need a crew for.
- If you are applying for the Shipping division, what would you name your ship? Why?
I was told this one's already christened the Arundell, after one Humphrey Arundell, a Cornish rebel leader in the Prayer Book Rebelion, from around the 1500's on Earth.
- Why are you interested in working for Border World Exports?
I originally signed up with Bowex because you've already got just about every customer out there, and the ones you haven't got contracts with want things moving through dangerous places, and aren't even legal half the time. As for now, it's because there's an opportunity to fly a brand new ship, and not one that blows itself up when Thames' gunners accidently pot-shot it.
-Tell us about yourselves, what are you dislikeskes etc (minimum of 100 words)
Well, I myself am largely financially motivated. I tried to set up my own shipping business, but it seems having connections is something corporations have already got nailed down. I still enjoy flying cargo ships and meeting new people though, and will spend most of my time between trips in the bar near my home. My crew are a second family to me, and Carl, my co-pilot and engineer is my best friend, we've flown together for two years now. Slightly more relevantly though, I guess is the fact that I won't take stupid risks. I mean, if there's a molly gunboat demanding our cargo and we're alone, then our lives (and your ship) is worth more, so they can have it. On the flipside, don't think I'm careless with my cargoes, if we've got a good chance to get away, we'll be gone before he can get a disruptor off.
As for likes and dislikes, well, I love watching the Dublin races down the bar. It doesn't matter where you are, it brings everyone together, a few bets and a few drinks and everyone's getting along great. Infact, there's a funny story of how I met Carl, and he ended up buy everyone's drink for a night on Canterbury. Oh, but I can't stand people moaning about unfairness. I mean, there's a few things in my life that's been unfair, but I just get on and make the most of it, it's not hard. Those 'hard-done-by Mollys, pah, just grow up and take it, change jobs, don't turn and start killing people.
//As far as the ship goes, I know full well you shan't be providing it, and I in-fact already have it, but if it's OK in-RP, then Bowex provides it if I get accepted. Also, there is a large RP story I'm writing for this character, it's not one I'm making new for the sake of joining.
//Oh, and thanks to Slavik (BES)Orange) for finnaly giving my that last bit of encouragement to sign up officially. He said to drop his name in here.
