Actually, we did do that for a while. You weren't around then. We would support the Bretonians when the Kusari would come a-raiding, and we'd go after some Kusari shipping in Bretonia.
There was even a VERY nice little shooting match around Deshima about that, because our relations with Kusari were 'kill 'em and get paid to do it'.
THEN things settled down, and we decided that it was in the best interests of everyone to just simply glare at the Kusari, and finally we've actually started working FOR them. We now have a working relationship with the police forces of Bretonia, Liberty, Kusari, and Rhienland.

Which is something I RP'd with them, and why we did some exploration stuff over there for a bit.
I'll rephrase something that I said above. The Bounty Hunters Guild has a positive (meaing we get paid) working relationship with the police forces in Bretonia, Kusari, Liberty, and Rhienland. That is one reason we are not involved now in their inter-house warfare.
Gallia has told the Bounty Hunters Guild to go screw themselves, they (Gallia) are not interested in working with us, and they have no desire to ever do so in a positive manner. So you've the person who pays your paycheck (even if you're an independant contractor) is being assaulted by some thugs and then says, Hey, Hunter, I'll pay you some money if you deal with these people that don't like you in the first place.
Does that mean that the Guild can stand up to military units in a big way? No - but it does mean that you have the potential so see some REALLY oddball combinations of ships working together. Think about it a second - given where the combat is going to happen, you could have Outcasts working WITH Kusari Navy working WITH QCP ships working WITH Guild ships - all fighting AGAINST Gallia.
