Meh! Antivirus

It's not windows Firewall.
I tried uninstalling AVG, and only AVG (I needed the newer version anyway)
And that's how I originally was able to connect to the servers.
I googled around a bit, and that's how I stumbled over several references in support forums that there's some sort of filter running on newer antivirus programs that aren't compatible with old games and online play, FL being a referred example.

And I'm inclined to take those statements for true, as without an active AV program (i.e. when I for a short period now only used antimalwarebytes, which you can only use manual scans unless you pay, it doesn't run in the background, right? it worked fine)

I also know norton would block it, because it used to do that way back when I still played other servers on FL, and it was still more active than a few select mod servers we have today.

Hum. This is /very/ strange, I've been using AVG for a bit over a year and have had no issues with games what-so-ever. (I can even run Bridge Commander multiplayer).

You could always do this:

Keep AVG on, and whenever you want to play a game it blocks, go to -> Tools -> Advanced -> Temporarily Disable AVG Protection and tick the box.
