It was a wet damp day; Katie running round the pavements that were shining with water, the sound of the rain smashing the top of her umbrella was crackling in her ears. People were dashing around, not looking very happy to be in the rain. The wind was hitting her unpleasantly.
She was fighting with her umbrella, however Christy's was in sight, and she sighed in relief.
'Finally there...' She gasped. As she closed in on the entrance of Christy's the pleasant scent of pastries and tea's travelled up her cold red nose.
She reached the door, she could hear cheerful laughter and speech coming from the small shop, she opened the door and the heat blasted on her face.
'Ah, I made it..' She said relieved that she was out of the rain, in the shelter of Christy's.
Before she stepped completely into the warmth of Christy's, she turned round to shake the water off the top of her umbrella, she paused at the door, staring sadly outside into the rain.
'Hey, don't let all the heat escape love' Christy's voice said behind her. Katie was thrown out of dreamland, and turned round to face Christy, who was smiling at her.
'Ooh, sorry!' Katie replied. She closed the door behind her as she walked into the warmth; she slowly travelled to the counter whilst looking round at the small groups of people inside.
'Smells so good in here as usual Christy' She smiled. Christy smiled pleasantly at Katie, 'Hah, you look destroyed, you been runnin'?'
'Yeah, didn't want to stay in that weather for long!' Katie cheerfully replied. Christy nodded slowly. 'Yeah, its been like that all day, anyway..Can I get you anythin' then?'
'Oh yes please, an Earl Grey will do me just fine thanks'
'One Earl Grey coming up' Christy beamed.
Katie smiled at Christy, and then turned to go find a seat. She didn't notice anybody she knew inside, so she started to look slightly worried, before she just decided to take a seat alone.
She waited for her tea looking openly out the window, into the dull weather, feeling slightly isolated.
Christy came round to Katie with a luxury looking cup, and she noticed the steam elevating out from the top, and the smell of Earl Grey was strong.
'Here you are darlin'... And don't worry, someone will be here soon' Christy assured Katie, and then walked away.
Katie stared into the mug, at the brown liquid, and smiled to herself, then she took a sip of the Earl Grey, and stared into the rain.
After a few moments, of staring blankly into the rain, Katie sighed, and looked around at the people inside.
Most the people had someone to talk with, however the 'white-suited man' cuaght her eye, she saw him doing something, but couldnt make it out. She desperatly wanted to go up to him and say hello, however she remained seated, she was staring at him for a good few seconds before she turned back to her tea.
She thought "Maybe i should go say hi.... Uhm.. Maybe its not the best thing to do"
She sighs, and carry's on to sip her tea.
