Tommeh, if you want to ...uck around with the engine graphics you could try the following:
first, create the main jet wash, then smear it to the point where you like it. Then, using elliptical tool, create a circle, perhaps 2-3px white stroke and add some glow to it. You might need to mess around with the "fatness" of the stroke. After you like what you see, choose a brush similar to what you have in Dry Media brushes. Then you modify the brush so it scatters on both X and Y axis. You might also ..uck around with Brush Dynamics settings. After you more or less like what you made set opacity and flow to 30% or so and start erasing parts of the glowing circle. I suggest making the circle 5 times bigger than the original will be. After you think it looks more or less ok, you flatten the circle by 50% or so, using the Width % parameter. ( ctrl T, the option will pop up on top) After that you duplicate the circle and put one under the jet wash and the second on top. Then just erase parts of the top circle completely and you will get the effect of jet wash going through the circle. If you like the outcome you can duplicate the 2 circles again, resize them and reposition further on the jet wash and repeat it until you get the engine trail you want.
p.s. Judging by the angle of the ship, you will have to practice how much % you need to put down on your flattening o f the circle to make it flow with the ship's direction.
