I am under the impression that a black hole is actually just a very dense, very strong worm hole. It has been theorized that black holes do actually have exit points called white holes. The only problem is that the singularity of a black hole is so deadly that a ship would be destroyed before it could ever make it to the white hole exit point. Otherwise, I think it could be theoretically possible for someone to travel to another universe via a black hole-white hole tunnel.
Black holes/white holes and worm holes/jump holes actually appear to have some similarities. Both are regarded as gravitational anomalies and both have some sort of gravitational pull. In one of the infocards of a nebula in either Omicron-81 or Omicron-94, it actually says that the first person to enter the system was sucked into a jump hole from either Omicron Alpha or Omicron Gamma. I think the only difference between them is that you can survive a journey through a worm hole/jump hole, but not a black hole/white hole.
