Aperçu (Overview)
In some of the more dangerous and remote systems, Police patrols are replaced with more experienced and better armed Royal Navy detachments. To the general public, however, the Gallic Police became a symbol of corruption and decay during the centuries of its existence. Journalists who tried to gather and publish accusatory reports on the Police were often found dead, or simply disappeared for good. In recent decades, the Crown announced a program of extirpating corruption from the Royal Police, and it did succeed on a limited basis. However, in space, where control is loose and mass media is not poking around, some Police pilots freely collaborate with criminals and are involved in a large array of illegal activities.
After years of sitting in the Navy's shadow, removing officers, and a full restructure of the top brass, the Gallic Royal Police under the leader ship of the new Directeur des services actifs (Directeur for short) Theo Decass are fully intent on returning to being the main Policing force for Gallia and finally dousing is past reputation as being an overly corrupt force.
With the End of the war and the splintering of Gallia The Gallic Royal Police, now rebranded as the Police Nationalé, have chosen to continue its service to the Gallic people, and so serve under the new Gallic Conferdate. Still recovering their number's after Pilots left to join the Royal Navy for the war, and then to the Enclave, the Police Nationalé have seen a surge of new Application's to the force, but with Funding focused on rebuilding the Navy the Police find themselves under funded and under equipped, making do with outdated equipment for the time being, the task ahead of them is vast to train fresh faced recruits to become a fully fuctioning police force.
