Vixen smiled, and gave a slow blink.
"Fine. Whatever you want to believe...i won't try and change your point of view."
She sat forward, looking between the two of them.
"But what does make me curious, is why the two of you...are here...seems like the last place anyone would turn up."
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
X yawned, flexing the three front toes of his left foot as he proceeded to answer the question lingering on her tongue, "Because it's quiet, but not too quiet, and people here don't have a snowflake's chance in Hell at taking me down, you inclusive... That's why I'm here, anyway."
Vixen blinked, and nodded, locking eyes with S'aari, still trying to unpuzzle her somehow, even though it was proving arduous.
"Both good answers, yet i still cannot find the meaning behind some..."
She brushed down the fur on her hand.
"Myself, i came here for wine and fun."
She nodded towards the outcast in power armor, who, even now, was bleeding, and trying to slowly crawl towards the door.
"I believe i've succeeded in that account."
She removed her pistol from the glove, and placed it on the table. It closed into what looked like a teardrop-shaped black metal object, and the single blinking light on it ceased.
"I wouldn't try and take down either of you anyway. You're unique...it'd be a tragedy."
She looked down at the table, and drew a small circle on the table with the point of a finger.
"Though, i know you wouldn't hesitate to put me down..."
She looked up, smiling, her eyes taking an off-white bloom to them.
"Its what makes these sorts of conversations so fun, the chance that i may get lucky, or the exact opposite."
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
S'aari glanced sharply at Vixen for a moment, leaning on her clawed hand as she looked across at the mammal. "Wait..." she began, "So you're saying that you hope you might score either of us..." she paused for a second, apparently thinking, "...or you might be killed in a gruesome and entertaining way?" she finished asking, with quite genuine interest.
X yawned again, showing all of his serrated teeth as he opened his mouth widely, crossing his arms and glaring at Vixen. He then glanced at S'aari for a moment as she spoke, before looking back to Vixen with a growl. "If you seriously think..." he began to speak, before cutting himself off and waiting for Vixen to answer S'aari.
Vixen shrugged.
"I believe that the first half is already far past, that is, if there ever was a chance in the first place..."
"Which i severely doubt."
She tilted her head at S'aari.
"But the killing i'd like to avoid. It doesn't really happen often, but when it does, it really hurts when i come back."
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
"Does ANYONE here want to have a conversation that doesn't end in a barfight tonight, or should I just pull out a gun and shoot a random person to start it early?" he yelled with the help of his helmet's amplifier.
Vixen looked over for a moment.
"You shoot anyone in my immediate vicinity, consider everyone dead."
She then looked back to S'aari and X, and waited for either of them to respond.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
X grunted reluctantly as he spoke, "Believe me, you'll find it more than challenging to take down me or S'aari..." He uncrossed his arms, taking a drink of whiskey. "You, are one of the people I wouldn't bother killing, as it would've been wasted effort."
I should have wasted more breath...
