SP Campaign is vanilla. What you do after the campaign is over isn't part of vanilla, as the story doesn't continue. In the SP Campaign, the nomads were wiped out, as far as I can remember. I'm sure if I am wrong, Yuri, John, or Akura will correct me, but your claim has no merit.
Nomads in discovery mod have been extended, courtesy of those who worked on the nomad lore here, it is officially established canonical here at discovery, and that's it. You cannot retcon it. The extensions made were a requirement to make the faction playable, and they don't go away with playability remaining. With that the discussion of lore pretty much ends there, and any further debate on it within this thread is pointless. You will not achieve anything with attempts at "denying" it. It's non-productive and unhelpful and pretty much will not affect the indie nomads experiment idea.
Just as you cannot retcon any other faction. You cannot retcon Gallia, you cannot retcon SCRA, and so forth. If ever to happen it would be the choice done by Igiss, not by anyone else here.
If you want to play vanilla nomads - play vanilla freelancer on vanilla server. I can guarantee you wouldn't be able to do so without modding the game, so have fun at it. If you cherish everything vanilla so much - play vanilla.

The Nomads were wiped out in the millions or billions (there is no accurate number), but there were fragments who weren't killed off. They regrew and after struggling for about 15 years, they came together and were reborn with the knowledge of their previous mistakes.

And thats why nomads on discovery are to be treated as if Keepers invented them and they should act like godkings to players who want to play nomads?
I am sure that makes sense in your mind, but in a logical way it doesnt.
I think this thread has served it's purpose out already. There isn't constructive discussion going on right now, and at large the points of debate running now are irrelevant to the original subject. Sadly, this has been turned into argument clinic. *ding* Time's up.

No, but the Keepers are the ones who invented the Nomads as a Roleplayable race and stopped them from being removed from the mod. The Nomads are in Discovery because of the Keepers, who now have full control of them. Someone has to.
