I've though about it a bit more this morning and decided that I'll put the derelict up for a public bid once I have all the details. I don't know its exact location, name, core, modules or anything apart from two unique aspects: it will have a unique Cardamine processing module, and no upkeep. I will donate a certain % of the final bid to the other top participants of the event, provisionally say 50%.
And yeah, I get your feedback @R.P.Curator. It's a bit sad we're so ingrained in mistrust due to the history of staff behavior, because I genuinely just played the game like anyone else would. The rewards were decided as objectively as it gets regardless of my whims or wishes, which is why I, who never touched a POB in his life, ended up with a POB, same as any other player would have. But sure, I get that regardless of the best intent possible, it can look off because it's easily abusable. As for blocking participation, it would be a quick recipe for getting demotivated and eventually never wanting to host another event again. Appreciate the feedback nonetheless, happy to hear you enjoyed the event.

Which is funny because Curator said the exact opposite, that the mystery factor of hidden rewards was what excited him. Not that any opinion is wrong, but it may be an indication that people will be split on this. The best you'd get is a pre determined list of rewards, hidden from public, written down as the event starts and posted publicly after the event ends with a timestamp as proof.
Its not that the unknown prize excited me, Its that given the community and its old players, an event like this one, spanning 2 weeks and regarding smuggling, with prizes announced at launch will generate an absurd amount toxic play, blockades and shadow logging, ship hopping from the player base which in return will mean a lot of work for the admins, that are currently swamped as it is with the bugs generated by the patch.
This event and its "missing" prizes, has shown the community interest and participation. The old rich players had nothing to do with it cause they had the credits, but once the prize was announced, voices rose up in rebellion: If I'd knew, I would've participated! and ask my buddies to hound and hunt the other players to ensure I win >> thus spoiling the fun for everyone else. Indeed, given the fact that the top 2 winners were a staff member and organizer and his best FL buddy throws some negative vibes >> Take this as positive feedback and learn to hide better or don't do it This whole line is a joke. I actually timed your travel through the systems to ensure that you weren't cheating.
Again: Kudos on the event and its hidden prizes. Better this way. Will not generate as much interaction as you want, but it will be enjoyable for everyone - given the community. And the server is already up to 200 max players with an average 50 players / day. So that's good.
Not knowing the reward is perfectly fine. I certainly didn't need to know about the reward to partake and make a ton of cash. Similarly, I didn't partake in the story jam for the rewards, either. To some people, just doing the event stuff is already reward enough, like to some people logging into the game was reward enough.

wouldn't matter as it was just OC competing with OC

Funny thing is I've never talked to Antonio personally before, like, late last week. I just had spare time and powertraded while watching Andor on my second monitor.
[03.07.2024] LNS-Beast***: we can do this every day but you have to buy bigger stronger ships...and i'll help you
