Itto Kaii, Jiro Taiyouji, reporting. These are from the patrols a while ago... Nearly passed the deadline for these, gomen, but you'll make do, I am sure.
First two cases are to report my failure to catch some smugglers, and to inform you about their identities, so you'll be on watch for them.
Cho Okamura-san from the secondary forces usually helps me in my patrols lately, and these were one of those times when we were flying together. We received complaints from the GMG miners in Okinawa, reporting that the group known as Junker Marauders raid their mining operations usually, and use Kusari systems to fly to safety. Me and my wingman Okamura-san then worked to cut these Junkers' possible escape routes.
I found a couple of their Junker Frigates by the Kepler Gate in Shikoku, and scans showed them full of stolen Helium-3 as the GMG reported. They didn't listen to my directives, and jumped to Kepler. We followed through.
As the gate was crowded, we lost one of the frigates on the other side, but managed to keep the other one from charging its cruise engines. Some banter went on, as the junker tried to persuade me that his cargo is not stolen. But I had enough proofs, and I still remember their ambush they prepared to us in Tau 23 earlier, so the junker gave up trying to talk his way and thrust towards the safety of Ames.
Okamura-san and I were both flying chimaeras, and our fire power was not enough to breach the frigate's hull until it reached to the base... So we had to give up the chase there.
Kind of the same story for the next suspect, Goletta di Palermo, an BWT, cardamine smuggler. My ship was just not enough to take it down until it could reach beyond our operation zone. Found it by the Kepler Gate as I was returning from the earlier chase... Was simply ignored and outran.
As I was flying back home, I have found a gathering close to Deshima Station. It appears that our new wing leader, Teta Nakamura-san, is a lot more successful at catching criminals than me. She caught a GMG slaver party with the assistance of two secondary forces captains, and persuaded the GMG to drop the slaves. After the heavy fine was received, they were let go, and the slaves were taken to the safety of Deshima station by the captains.
The rise of smuggling operations taking place in Kusari made us form a temporary task force in order to work against it. We decided to ruffle some feathers, fly through the possible smuggling routes, gather up intel, and to discourage anything that might want to use those routes.
KDS-Kirishima, KDS-Hiei, KSP-Bokken, Nakamura-san and I took part in the operation. We scouted through Oita first, as we received reports of these smugglers using there as a key to Honshu and Sigmas, and when pirates need to retreat from their raids of GMG assets. Whatever shifty looking transport or fighting craft we saw, we fined and directed out as we flew through Oita. Then split up into two groups to keep the inner Kusari covered better.
Pilot of the Bokken had better coverage of the tast force in his guncam shots, sadly, I somehow misplaced them...
Nakamura-san and I formed one of the groups. We flew to New Tokyo and kept the bottlenecks in check. It didn't take long until an FA transport fell into our net. It didn't have any cargo, but its pilot was so willing to tell us how he murders the gaijin in so many different ways. After having admitted to being a murderer, we wanted to take him into custody, but of course he refused, and started to shoot us, so we shot back until the transport blew up.
Afterwards, the rest of the task force caught a Boxew train in Honshu in formation with a GMG gunboat. They alerted us so we could cut their access to New Tokyo. Apprehended by New Tokyo-Honshu connection, they had to stop and listen to our explanations about why the Bowex vessels can't enter Kusari, and how the GMG paramilitary can't do so, as well. After some banter, they were both escorted out of Kusari through Sigmas by the rest of our task force, while our wing had to call it a day.
All from me for now. Itto Kaii, Jiro Taiyouji signing off.
This time I am reporting the capture of a Gallic Brigand pilot alongside the Gunboat he was piloting.
About 2000 SMT, Okamura-san sent out a distress call, telling that he found the vessel in question in Kyushu, close to New Tokyo gate. I immediately set out to meet him, and found them both already engaging. As soon as I appeared, the suspect decided to take a more diplomatic approach with us, knowing he's out-gunned, but I had to make sure the threat would be over as soon as possible. I was hungry, and Nakamura-san would cook, you know.
But no, that wasn't to be... I had to babysit a pirate to Fuchu through the night, of course. Here's the banter as I reached their position.
VL01 Wrote:[KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: What's going on? La.Rapiere: Duvier: Just opening fire like that? How impolite. Cho.Okamura: Fighting that pirate, friend. Need your cover. [KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: What? What are YOU doing here, Brigand? La.Rapiere: Duvier: Not much, monsieur. Sightseeing, mostly. [KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: That you can not, either case. Cho.Okamura: He's robbing traders here. I witnessed it. La.Rapiere: Duvier: Beautiful system, by the way. [KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: Thanks to Okamura, keeping the trash out. La.Rapiere: Duvier: I asked for a donation for repairs. Cho.Okamura: Of course. La.Rapiere: Duvier: And the transport didn't care to donate, so he left. [KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: Now let's continue to keep the system beautiful.
The suspect was soon overcome, and surrendered to us. He requested to be taken prisoner instead of being shot further.
I was reluctant... you know what happened with that pirate bomber earlier... After all that work, the very next day he tried to shoot Nakamura-san with the very same bomber he was piloting before he got to visit Fuchu. Whoever is taking care of that place, I hope they'll get their stuff together soon enough. And if these criminals are being let loose on purpose, I want an investigation. Here I am asking again... Do I, and my nakamas, risk our lives for nothing?
Suspect was taken to Fuchu, anyway. We plotted a course away from the lanes and other bases through the flight until we reached the prison. I personally handed the suspect to the Tokkeitai known as Gaikotsu aboard Fuchu, and the last time I checked, the highly damaged pirate boat was moored tightly to the docks, under the supervision of station personnel.
Here's some brief information about the suspect I gathered so far through our flight.
The name he called himself as is Pierre Duvier; I had to check the voice logs three times to properly spell this gaijin name, so make sure to take good note of it. By appearance, he's a member of the Gallic Brigands and is piloting an Asco gunboat. His piloting of that boat is barely average compared to the others we met so far. He likes to mention how beautiful Kusari space looks. I don't know if Fuchu has cells with windows looking out towards the space, though. If there are, he's probably in the right prison.
He's afraid of being transferred to the Gallic prisons, most probably. He mentioned the terrible conditions and told us about how bad the prisoners are treated... if they even survive until they reach the prison that is. Supposedly, the prisoners would be poked with a shock stick regularly to check if they are alive.
VL02 Wrote:[KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: Still... it sucks to be you... you'll probably have to suffer through a little bit in the prison... no women there, you see... Don't drop the soap... and also, medical checks and all. La.Rapiere: Duvier: Ah, oui. That is probably the biggest problem. [KNF]Ii.Jiro.Taiyouji: Those nasty old doctors... La.Rapiere: Duvier: The Gallic police rarely cares to check on a prisoner's medical condition. They check to see whether he is alive or not and that is it. They usually use shock paddles for that.
Also... Gaikotsu. That Tokkeitai is creepy... as much as those nasty old doctors. I am glad I am on the right side of the law.

Subject: Encounter in the Shikoku System (02-01-821)
This is Katsuo Shimoe, Itto Kaii, with the report of last night patrol on the Shikoku system.
I launched from Planet New Tokyo with the intention of conducting a regular patrol when I started receiving reports of a uncommon concentration of ships in the Shikoku system. Just then, Nitto Kaii Kenji Tokusha arrived and inquired me about the situation. We decided to head to Shikoku to investigate.
On the lane between Ohashi Border Station and Plante Junyo we stumbled upon several ship loitering around the tradelane.
On the scene was a Junker transport, a Lane Hacker transport and a broadsword bomber bearing lane hacker markings.
The junker with callsign Silver.Hound began a spiel about persecution of Junkers by the navy and that he was innocent. The junker was not carrying anything forbidden, and when asked if he was associated with the lane hackers, my main concern at the moment, he vehemently denied it. I ordered him to leave the area so that I could concentrate in dealing with the other vessels, which he had some trouble in complying.
In the Hacker transport, flown by a Dr.Julius No, we found a large stash of Cardamine, and several units of assorted drinks. The bomber, denominated Data.Miner, was carrying a single package of Cardamine, possibly for personal consumption.
Considering the situation presented, I decided to charge them with possession of illegal cargo, and and the ships were ordered to release and destroy the illegal cargo and be escorted out of Kusari space.
The Hackers were surprisingly quick to follow the orders, and together with the junker vessel, were escorted by Kenji Tokusha and me towards Deshima station. The reason might be that the hackers began showing anxiety of being deprived of Cardamine in their possession. Such addiction must really put a strain in their minds.
At Deshima however, some sort of confusion occurred, and and Kenji's ship took a few shots from the hackers while I was out of range. The ships started cruising into the Keiun Cloud. Kenji was in quick pursuit, but lost sight of the ships faster than expected. The hackers might have equipment that is capable of jamming our sensors, even at close/medium range. I'll ask someone of the engineering department to review the records of our ship for clues on that.
Having lost contact with the vessels inside of the cloud, I ordered to regroup in Deshima, and see if they tried to come back. After a few minutes without any reading in short and long range scanners from Battleship Myoko, we decided that the hackers had left the system trough a jumphole, and we returned to New Tokyo, were Kenji Tokusha signed off.
I proceeded on a patrol alone all the way to Nagano, without any noteworthy events, and docked at Battleship Matsumoto in the Hokkaido System for refuel and some rest.
This concludes my report, Katsuo Shimoe signing off.
820-12-30 Aprox 2000. An LH marked Very Heavy Fighter flew directly to the New Tokyo way through the southern trade lanes leading to Shikoku.
I immediately gave chase. Apparently, the guy wanted to fight, and made sure I'd be alone. So he made me follow him far off the usual routes, then turned back and engaged.
I had to destroy him.
Right afterwards, a civilian trader reported on a pirate that's bothering Honshu traffic. Two more bombers, alongside mine, were assigned to find this pirate and take it down.
We could track it down to Galileo system. It had stolen cargo with it, and around itself the debris of the vessels it just shot. After a brief questioning, we took it down.
821-03-01 Aprox 1900. I was patrolling the Kyushu system, as I stumbled upon them. An LSF Siege Cruiser and an USI trading vessel, standing really close with a load of MOX. The LSF had an Hyperspace Module. I am sure they were trying to jump as they were caught by me.
I told the LSF about how wrong it is for the LSF to be here. It disagreed. I told it again. It disagreed again.
Meanwhile an Council transport appeared close, and taking advantage of me being busy trying to deal with both the Council and the LSF, the USI tried to run. I could manage to cut the lanes for the USI more than a few times. I had to question it and the LSF more. I told it to not move. It disagreed and flew off.
I would chase and blow up that USI transport there, however, I still had to escort this not so bright LSF Cruiser out. While I did that, I informed other pilots about the USI vessel.
The LSF Cruiser jumped to Tau 29 under my watch. But I am sure it entered Kusari again, as I heard the captain's voice in New Tokyo system wide transmissions. Next time we see this fella, I hope we'll have a bomber team ready; as we will just destroy it, loot the pods, interrogate the crew, mount the captain's head on a pike and send it to the LSF Headquarters.
The USI vessel was stopped close to Planet New Tokyo orbit by Itto Kaii Shimoe Katsuo-san. Me and a couple of tokkeitai also appeared to question the USI pilot, and force it to recognize the mistakes it did. It took a while, as this pilot was as bright as the LSF one.
After a lot of efforts, I could take the fine from the USI vessel before we set it free.
However, this should not be over. I have provided enough proofs of the USI vessel, helping out the LSF Cruiser to jump around within Kusari systems. Both the LSF and the USI need correcting, especially these two dimwits have to be strictly warned. Also, since this USI pilot was helping out foreign intelligence in Kusari, it should not be allowed to enter Kusari ever again.
I hope this matter will be followed up properly. Itto Kaii Jiro Taiyouji out.
Teaming up with a Kusari State Police Gunboat and several Heavy units, we succeeded to disrupt several criminals wrong doings.
Firstly, the State Police officer detected a Zoner vessel heading to New Tokyo.
It was actually a capital ship, carrying contraband.
As its captain didn't cooperate in any way, we were forced to open fire. I had to chase a criminal in a bomber who ran to Kepler during the engagement.
I heard the Zoner vessel eventually somehow made it to Shinagawa station.
As i was heading back to New Tokyo, i encountered a Rogue pirate transport, disrupting the lane to Junyo.
I quickly opened fire on the criminal, who managed to consequently damage my Chimaera. Fortunately for me, the Taka came to support me and the pirate transport was destroyed.
We then encountered a pirate bomber, disrupting once again the lanes between Junyo and Deshima. This must be a good spot i suppose. We made him pay a fine and let him go, as a bigger threat appeared. An Outcast gunboat.
Those people should know security teams will be waiting for them as soon as they reach the space-port. I don't understand what goes through their minds.
The first subject of this report occurred earlier in the week as I had gone on a patrol with Kabayakawa-san and Nakamura-san, primarily for the purpose of intercepting smugglers in our core worlds. We were fortunate, and intercepted our first smuggler of the night who was hauling 180 tonnes of cardamine; ultimately he refused to surrender his cargo and attempted to flee, resulting in his execution. Soon after, we encountered another smuggler carrying 2655 tonnes of cardamine through the Kyushu jumphole in New Tokyo, he too was executed for attempting to flee. An honourable member of Hogosha assisted us in his execution. Following this, we conducted a small patrol through Tau-23 where nothing extraordinary was discovered which concluded our patrol that night. Files attached below.
On my next patrol, I met with Gamo-san and Tayouji'-san who had discovered an un-escorted and uninvited LSF transport violating the sovereignty of our borders with his presence. In addition to being arrogant and disrespectful, the mongrel detonated his ship in the atmosphere of Planet Kitadake, killing his crew and potentially endangering civilian lives. I will not bother to summarize his banter in this report, audio transcripts, however, are attached at the end of the report. After this, a Junker Marauder gunship was discovered crossing through New Tokyo, his vector suggesting he was headed to Tau-23; he chose to crash himself into Aso instead of submitting himself to summary execution.

Subject: Encounter in Tau-29 System (10-01-821)
Today I started a morning patrol in Shikoku with a communication from a bounty hunter from Deshima, inquiring about the authorized area of operations for bounty hunting activities. After explaining the most recent points on the matter (Section 7-3-1 of the Kusari Legal Codex), I bid him farewell and moved to Kyushu.
There had been recent reports of Golden Chrysanthemums vessels in Kyushu, but none were detected during the patrol.
Proceeding to patrol Tau-29 however, I have come into contact with 2 GC ships in the vicinity of Freeport 6.
The two women, Saya Hiroyuki and Msyu Akimoto, arrived in a bomber and a gunship from a unknown point in the system. Inquired about their presence there, they said they were just going to the Freeport 6 for a drink and ship maintenance.
The vessels were not carrying any illegal material, nor there were reports of attacks in Kusari space at the time. The location being Freeport 6 made me hesitate in using a more forceful approach, so I used the time to make sure the transport traffic passed by without hindrance by the GC, and issued a stiff warning.
With the GC docking in the Freeport, I returned to Kusari space, keeping a line with Nago station in the sector for any activity.
With no more occurrences, I docked at Ohashi Border Station in Shikoku for debriefing and ship inspection.

Konbanwa,
During a routine patrol in the core worlds our scout picked up a large force of Blood Dragon ships, primarily capital vessels, moving through Honshu for unknown purposes. Our taskforce, consisting of snub vessels moved to intercept and eliminate the Dragon threat. Upon discovering our formation on an intercept course, the Dragon flotilla changed their course vector to the Hokkaido jump hole in what appeared to be a bid to ambush us on the other side of the hole. Their plan backfired and we were able to eliminate their gunship escort and heavily damage their battleships, one of which suffered a core breach near Ainu base. Following this, they brought in a cruiser and we called for capital reinforcements - being low on ammunition and repair bots. The captain of the KDS-Yamanashi responded and assisted us in the elimination of the remaining enemy forces.
Casualties for the enemy were two battleships, one cruiser, and two gunboats. The KNF suffered moderate ship damage, though no casualties have been reported. Our men fought bravely despite being heavily outgunned and I am proud to call them my comrades.
Today was a very eventful patrol on the Kyushu and Shikoku System. I deployed from the Myoko on the new bomber assigned to me. The mission was to assist KNF ships in Kyushu that were pursing a vessel of the Liberty Navy found deep in Kusari territory.
Just as I launched from the Myoko, my radar picked up a signal near Deshima. The signal came up as a Bretonia Armed Forces vessel, HMS-Lawrence.Of.Arabia, which immediately departed towards Kepler when he noticed my presence. 1
I informed the field commander of the operation and proceeded to Kyushu jumphole to provide support on the main objective.
Arriving at Kyushu, the commander of the KDS-Zanza reports that the hostile is heading to my location and orders me to intercept. I find the vessel, the LNS-Watchtower, being pursued by the Zanza and Navy Battleship Purotekuka, of the 2nd Fleet.
The ship was intercepted as he entered the Hayate Dust Field and the order to destroy the Watchtower was given, resulting in its destruction.
After the objective was concluded, reports came in of a LSF agent ship operating in New Tokyo. Purotekuka headed to the jumpgate, while the KDS-Zanza returned to Kyushu for resupplies, and I headed back to the Shikoku jumphole to change to my chimaera.
With the fighter deployed from the Myoko again, the Puotekuta reported that the agent was heading to Shikoku with the Tokkeitai operative Hakutaku in his tail. I set up a traffic control north of Deshima station, waiting for them to arrive.
While waiting, an IC vessel called IC|Velp came into range, and my scanners found that he was transporting passengers with invalid registry, classified as slaves. The captain of the ship said that they were going to planet Miura in the Okinawa system.
I told him that the while the registry was in that condition he was not allowed to proceed, and the case was passed to the Purotekuta, who detained the passengers and received the fine.
Meanwhile, operative Hakutaku engaged the (LSF)Armand.Leeds, but was defeated before I could come to it's aid.
A solitary pursuit ensued, with the hostile heading to Planet Junyo again. For a brief moment I was able to get a reading on his ship, and found he was carrying an artifact. It is possible that the agent is under influence of the artifact. 12
While trying to chase him around Junyo, another ship showed up. It was a GC heavy fighter piloted by a Sister.Kin . Her intentions were clear, as her hatred towards me was evident when she started the attack on my ship. 1
I've still pondered if I should keep my pursuit of the Liberty agent, but the GC had a superior technique to mine, and I was forced to eject.
Seemingly satisfied with shooting down my ship, the GC left before a patrol of the Myoko passed by and retrieved me. It is unknown the fate of the LSF agent.
