Snub buffs, snub whores have already generated loads of toxic, it lead to nerfing the crap out of gunboats, and it will probably increase. The solution is crusier access.

Still, capital ship access would attract more attention imo.

No, I agree with you mimir, but unless you make a 1 time application, have a perfect background, are a spot on 10/10RPr, are willing to wait 3 years to go up the ranks, and are willing to fly along side the 3 people you have into NewYork to fight, your not going to get the ID nor the crusier.
In terms of using caps by indies, how about giving the limitations that house intelligence factions have?
Put a zoi that regulates cap usage (just omegas, for example), and outside of zoi, caps get a "Self-defense only" usage. Have the smaller classes a more unrestricted activity outside of their normal ground.
i think, by now, this thread has transcended a discussion about the coalition ID and has become an argument about indies and caps and the demerits of widespread cap access vs the unwillingness of some players to want to be anything bar the 'top dog'.
Next, i predict we'll see this thread turn into flat out arguments between one side and another eventually forcing the mods or admins to step in and douse the flames with their flame extinguishing hammers.
well, at least the drama cycle in disco is a constant occurrence. but it's spreading the love now.
My actual view: Both sides have valid points. a little bit more freedom on the indie ID... sure, why not.
cruisers (and the eventually forthcoming carriers) on the indie ID, yeah nah. want one then SRP it.
