I can't say that i passed a whole campaign without thruster but i did go without it to the point where you got to escort that fat scientist, always taught cruise is afterburner, but at that point i just could not go further so i tried to experiment, after that SP was easy, i would not have figure it out at all if i have not played Tachyon before.
I saw you walking down the streat, your eyes, your lips, your nose, everything was so perfect. I started singing "who let the dogs out."
Took me a couple of months to realise that you can unmount weapons on your ship by clicking the little blue thingy. Before that, if I wanted to swap weapons I'd have to sell it and buy it back from the weapons dealer, at a huge markup I might add.
I say this thread deserves a pin. I mean it is made of pure win and it also pretty useful. Some time ago I learned about the green and red lights of tradelanes.

Clicking?
No.
I have 1234567890 set to fire the respective weapon number when pressed.
So, all I have to do it hit the numbers of the weapons I wanna fire with a slight delay and then click fire after that.
I thought that X was engine kill, as in, it stops the engine.. I've played Freelancer since 2004, and I only figured this out around 2 weeks ago. It's Z, by the way, it REALLY helps in fights. Facepalm
You realise you can actually reconfigure all those keys to your liking, right? And access a few movement orders that you can't by default use, such as roll and pan up/down.

I understand, but I never looked at the Keybindings that much. I like how it is. But when I was fighting in Conn, I was asked why I wasn't Engine killing.
And then he told me what button it was. I had no idea how to use it, until that day, which was recently. It helps quite a bit.
