@DO: Probably because a fleet admiral can't take over the ship he's/she's on single handedly. :D
I've found some major problems with the nomad cruiser:-
1) it's power rating is not what the infocard says. It's turrets are pretty good, stats wise, unfournately you can't fire more then 3 on the nomad cruiser.
You can only fire a cruiser inferno or cruiser B razor 3 times, then your buggered cos the powers all gone.
2) *CENSORED* I'll be PMing the admins about this one.
I'm not posting it because within 3 hours you won't be able to move for nomad cruisers flying around.
It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that I know people won't believe me and will go try it for themselves.
Plus I'm already sick to death of RP characters flying ships they would never even see, let alone use.
EDIT:
@DO: Thank night, he made it.
I've done some more testing:
1) the NPCs shoot over the ship when head on and at the tail when above,
2) the hitbox is practically non-existant,
As you can see in these screenies, theres nothing to stop stuff drifting through, so instead of pinballing I just cruise past rocks, ships etc.
EDIT 2:
Forgot about this last night, the nomad cruiser is also pretty agile, I can easily keep up with liberty gunboats and if I use the up, down, left, right thrusters I can pretty much keep up with a BHG hammerhead or liberty guardian (thats the NPCs, this ship is too unbalanced at the moment to try on other players).
EDIT 3:
Forgot this one,
The infocard says it's top speed is 90, it's actually 80.
why dont some fighter patrols be replaced by some bomber patrols around the planets of houses? especially rhineland bombers with double antimatter cannon. YUM...... :D
Whoo, looks like the manta isn't the only ship with a problem this release!
Suggested Change: Reputation
Ok as it stands now, I have *over* 250 outcast pilots in my hold from killing their fighters and whatnot in Omicron Alpha. Now my concern is I've killed a crapload of ships. My reputation is still nuetral with the outcasts.
I think this is a major problem.
Corsairs are closer to getting nuetral with me than outcasts are to getting hostile.
What I propose is that the reputation modifiers are changed so that if you kill 5 of their ships you are dead nuetral from pure friendly. Ten ships would be completely hostile.
I suggest that the method for getting factions friendly stays just the way it is now however.
EDIT:
Update.. This happened a few minutes after my post as I continued killing outcasts. Please note Corsairs were dead top of my list as biggest enemy prior.
That's true Marauder. I would still love to see some sort of feature though where the NPC's treated you based on your affiliation (if you have one) rather than your individual rep. That way I wouldn't have to worry about my reputation..
Have you thought of killing Outcasts' allies, like Rogues or Hackers/GC/BD?
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
That's not a bad idea, however all of those ships are under level 15. I prefer the challenge of large amounts of outcast ships that can actually damage my battleship.
It just sucks that keeping my reputation equalized and killing NPC's to make money is becoming quite the chore. It's more like working than playing.
