missiles are causing lag. Can't say it's gonna be a good idea.
Better to think of a frontal firing gun siege-cruiser-like for a gunboat with 0 turning abilities, slow reload but massive damage and relatively slow projectle, maybe fast. But need to think of how to remove the abusability to oneshot people with it.

Refire rate should be slower than the time it takes for a shield to come back online. Weapon only fires directly forward. Ship turns like a Barge.
I'm still waiting for a icbm type explosion with 2000m damage effect with a single torpedo. Only effect that has a wide range of explosion FX is a mortar. Make a nuke type missile that can be launched only once and that can render an area with radiation

Currently, the damned POBs are too strong. Noone bothers assaulting since its almost impossible to do the job even with 5 battleships, especially when after 3 hours somebody comes to defend it.

Thing is, the lag would not be all that bad if you consider that current gb's and snubs are able to launch far MORE missles with a constant bombardment, somthing this would be capable of as well, though the missles would be less damaging.
It is in essense, a glass cannon type of ship, weak close-in but packs a wallop, similar to some light cruisers and gunships.
Furthermore, The idea of dumbfire rockets is a good one as an option, but let me allay some concerns.
This ship would NOT be more powerful than a cruiser.
More than a gb? Possibly, with rockets, head to head. But as soon as another gb got on its tail, well, its not nearly the same threat. The intention is a ship that is good at long-medium distances, where current gunboats are very good in close.
These ships are not meant to be a cruiser in durability, nor would that be fair.
In order to use these effectively, teamwork would be required.
Also, the point that shooting these at transports would be unbalanced is moot: Transports suck, and everything else including cruisers (which would kill them FASTER) can already shoot them.
As for intercept... Well, if a snub is sitting still long enough to eat 4-6 sunslayer speed torpedos, he would easily have eaten a pair of cruiser or bs missles as well.

If pirates and freelancers can use that , they can pwn tranport in a second. Why should generic ID pirates use any other ship cause this one is best for disposing of defensless tranports. I like the idea of ship very much, but i afraid that ship would be used in wrong way.
This ship is more for militaries or police forces and maybe some warlike factions.
