And the small transports would be upped a bit as well, respective to that.
Especially the Gull (-> 1.5k) and Albatross (-> 3k)

Just putting that out there, considering how the original poster's idea is waaaaay too much unless cargo prices (and pay) are reduced to 1/10th.

upping cargo holds decreases activity - across the board. If cargo holds go up, prices have to go down, or mod becomes desolate wasteland where newbies cannot make cash. Search is your friend here. this thread has been discussed to death many, many many times. if you cba to search, then you have to listen to old-timers like me say 'Nope'.

U are telling me that game will suffer 1930s stock crash if U increase the transport capacity of huge ships that should by logic and their size haul more than 10k cargo ?

Must I say that this is a game, and nothing will happen if I haul 18k of some goods or 5k of same, game itself does not care.

Don't tell me that NPC will pay almost nothing for that bread that I haul... Smile

Game is here to serve, only limitations are developers unwilling to extend the reach of those huge ships with pathetic cargo holds.

Solution is simple, either increase cargo of super transports, or nerf cargo holds of ships that seem too much.

I can see what will happen if it happens... they will nerf cargo of inferior transports...

I played some games were nerfing is quite easier than fixing the problem at it roots.

What Discovery community thinks is only thing what matters to any multi player game.

Customer is always right.

What the rest of community thinks ?

Thanks.

I don't really get what your post has to do with my suggestion. I already said the "upping cargo for all transports, especially the big ones" is not an option.
I mostly posted to reiterate the lovely idea of increasing the cargo hold on freighters and, in respect to that, the very small (<3k) transports.

Gonna try to be as simple as possible: If ships appear with cargo holds over 5000 units, the devs will have 20 times the amount of work they do have now to balance the whole economy system.

Then why do you care? Do the run three times like everyone else.

You can be pretty much glad the dev team brought this mod this far without any payment received in exchange. It's all their free time, sweat and efforts put into this game you are complaining about to be "illogical".

There are no customers here, there are admins, developers and players. If you are looking forward to become a customer, you are at the wrong forums, I don't think we sell anything here.

Oh and the Customer is not always right. If he was, I could go to a fancy restaurant and demand a whole steamed lobster for a 20 cents.

And anyways, Discovery ain't a democracy.

Quote:Several retail concern used this as a slogan from the early 20th century onward. In the USA it is particularly associated with Marshall Field's department store, Chicago
As stated Here

An article which also said the following:
Quote:Of course, these entrepreneurs didn't intend to be taken literally. What they were attempting to do was to make the customer feel special by inculcating into their staff the disposition to behave as if the customer was right, even when they weren't.

Saying that, and I qoute you for this, Exospectron
Quote:Customer is always right.
Is the most misinformed statement that anyone, anywhere has ever made.
Back when I got my first job and I worked in grocery/retail as a cashier while at school, a lot of self-entitled fat people or otherwise angry social security cases (which I was familiar with personally) lorded this over the cashiers and other workers as if it was a Norwegian thing.

So here's a list of what you're doing wrong:
  • You believe you're entitled to a service you're not paying for
  • Even if you had been paying for it, it's not "in the business acumen" so to speak, so your point is invalid
  • Balance is supposed to respect gameplay and give everyone a fair shot. Small transports are useful in their own way, being less likely to attract immediate attention being one of them. another reason being agility. If you remove the incentive for choice, everyone's gonna need a hundred years to grind up to a point where it feels "fun" or rewarding to do something as bland (as the case is, sometimes) as trading
  • The mod is maintianed by people who know what they're doing. and they do it for free. Deal with it

It just kinda irks me even all this time even though I have a way different job anymore that some ancient slogan for a single company has become the catch-all for arguments that aren't even valid.

As I used to tell people who served me "the customer is always right"...
"Concerning what he wants, yes, but the costumer can't suddenly defy gravity because he feels like it."

Some interesting opinions that only serve as real proof of unwillingness to change.

Well, I got my answer, No transport cargo increase.

Quite obviously, this is not Democracy or anything U would call one.

Over and out.

You do realize democracy is the power of majority, right?
In a democracy a single voice is not as powerful as ten others.
Looks like democracy works, to me.

Democracy id government of idiots, many stupid to overpower few smart or capable.

That is democracy, created to eternally enslave.

But to devs and others, thanks for answers and explanations, It would be great that large transports haul more, or some balance to smaller ships need to be made because of their size.

Thanks, have a nice day.
