Yes. Nice approach.

It's "only" a delay strategy, but these delay strategies pack a lot of cooperative teamwork and thus enhance the gameplay a lot (e.g. I am also a fan of snubs cd-ing Novas and Cruiser missiles for their own caps).

Definitely give that one a try!

We just tried to replicate said exploit, and it doesnt work.

Also, if you are a transport, and you hire an escort with more than 2 debs, if he can actually aim his guns, the bomber will not be snacing anybody for a considerably long time, easily enough for the transport to get to safety

You'd be surprised how much core drain a 7-deb Sabre actually does.

Would require quite a bit of work since guns aren't the only thing with a power draw. Shields, countermeasures, thruster... even hidden items such as engine cores have a power drain. A lower actual core could mean that these drains become non-significant. Then there's the cruise drain, which has a bit of energy excluded from the drain margin - probably so that the ships impulse engines don't stop working once people are kicked out of cruise - which could mean the cruise drain becomes less significant unless that plugin too is adjusted.

It's a good idea, but a lot of work.

Lets just wait and see what update 6 will bring, and then we can start discussing about other changes.
Bug fixing should come first. [87 is still in betaphase right?]
