Perhaps.

I was thinking more along the lines of the death scythe - this thing would be more advanced than the CSV or Collector, maybe using alien tech taken from the death scythe, but more to make it more manuverable/agile/fast than to make it have a lot of firepower.

If you arent aware, the death scythe infocard reads something like "Junkers sometimes sell this ship on their bases, but wont say where it's from." And I think it mentions something about being an alien design they found out in the borderworlds while on salvage ops.

Not all junker ships have to be rustbuckets using bottom-of-the-line systems and weaponry, but they arent likely to have as much high tech weaponry as other factions either.

I like the whole "unable to fire supernova" concept... while busting out 2 minirazors, and CD. But wouldn't this be a perfect fighter killer? Perhaps we could opt for a ne Junker cannon... with good damage damage slow speed to not mess with fighters and a little more energy hungry configuration... It should be called Big freaking Barrager... I'll get some stats for it...

2k damage 800ish enegry consumption and about 4 refire rate... and a big thumping sound of an autocannon speed of about 200 to not endanger fighters...

It would deplete energy quickly but bombard the poor C(h)ap with some serrius Cabbage...

Yes I like it... Slow enough to not endanger fighters but damaging enough to distrupt Caps... and with two of them... whooo hooa you'd have about 10 second firing time... or 25 seconds for one...

That would be if the base core would sport 30k power and 2k regen...

Ok, update:

I've done a few little things with the model to add some detail. It's starting to look like a fairly hightech warship... reminds me of an apache helicopter too for some reason.

Additions:
-Raised stripe down the side of the tail section
-Vents on the front of the nose and top of the tail
-Supports on the torpedo tubes
-Engine intakes on both sides of the cockpit
-Minor changes to the engine section
-Changed the 'spikes' on the tail fins to look better
-Support fixed between the engine and tail sections
-Front of each torpedo tube filleted to give a more rounded look

Here's the new pics:

It would be fairly effective against fighters, but only if they joust you. Razors arent easy to fire at a dodging target by any means.

I see it as a way of 'making up for' our lack of a competetive VHF. The Collector really isnt that great a ship.

This kills two birds with one stone - decent for anti-fighter/bomber (which most of our enemies use), but capable of killing small capships and transports (though not as effective as a true bomber in that regard).

Can we see a theoretical size comparison between this vessel and the CSV.

um... i dont have a .max or .3ds version of the CSV so I cant import it.

I could try to give a rough size comparison to a saber or something.

Alright, here it is next to a saber - the size is only approximate. Generally how I size them is by scaling the model I make down until the cockpit is about the same size for each ship.

It is rather small, but keep in mind the saber has much lower mass (and thus higher turning) than a CSV or collector. Chances are this junker "bomber" would not have the super-high hull strength of other bombers either, but more fighter-level to balance out it's small size.

Looks good. Bit small, but pretty sexy.

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

here's a few images of the ship using 3ds max textures. I'm still waiting on getting the actual CSV textures to use though, so this isnt what it will end up looking like:

It's very cool looking, but basically it's a dagger designed to be a fighter killer bomber.

I would really suggest trying to pitch it as a replacement model for the Raider fighter/Scyth. Not as a even more problematic version of the redcat.

Because it would be a damn cool looking replacement for either one of those eyesores.
