Same here. Enemy Within. Long War. It's really epic... so many ways to push the research.
I'll have to do "classic" and "no saving allowed". And I already know, I will be QQing so much... for my 1st Colonel that gets 1-shotted.

I prefer the less glamorous Xenonauts.
But like XCOM too,it has pretty good gameplay.

Update.

Things are going relatively well, did a couple more missions. Went to an alien abduction in Houston (Somehow the Texans didn't have enough guns to take care of that...). Eduard is deadly accurate as a sniper, I can dig it. Took PFCs Haste and Omicega on this one and they did well. (Omi did well, Haste killed nothing)

Haste specialized in assault rifles (spray and pray) while Omicega decided on the Shotgun life. Nothing much of note, except Redon can apparently curl rockets around obstacles like some sort of psychic Beckham.

With them promoted, took the time to set up some outfits. One Two Three
