i dont need to copy/paste acres of diamonds in here, do I?
this isnt a communist funland where people who dont work get benefits
edit: it's still a new system, give it time to incubate. perhaps perk amount will be gauged by things other than raw activity or by different tiers of activity
either way just launch a ship and sit in rusallon or whatever
I aswell thought of perks as something that will attract indies to join into official factions. But, indies aswell may enjoy benefit of perk(in case of commodity). So nothing generally changed.
If a faction is inactive, it means they're taking up a slot others would gladly wish to use. If a formerly active faction becomes inactive, then it just means its time to let someone else take the wheel for a while. If theres a resurgence, so be it. Theres no limit to a faction being revived.

The tracker will start only on March 1 and you will get a warning a month after that. Any ''dead'' faction has two months to submit a perk that would help their faction become more interesting and attractive. In other words, use the perks to better the faction itself.
If they fail to do that, they fail. The ID is just not interesting enough for them to become an official faction. Not every ID is interesting enough for all players. We must deal with that. It is sad but true.

I thought that on March 1st there will be first activity check, so it will use activity gained in February.

Define "inactive". And what if there is no one who would gladly use that slot? You will just lose somebody to RP with - look at OSC for example, also Synth Foods was completely out of game for long time and if you wanted anything from this faction, there was no one who could represent it.
I wouldn't mind there being a system which takes into account both in game and forum activity. That might help the less activity factions that whilst they're not in game all the time, they still have a considerable influence.
So if i understand this right,no more multi-faction?
If perks are based on activity, you will have to invest your playtime in your favorite faction, leaving the rest of the factions you are member of to be flushed down the drain.
