The recruiter is obviously angered by Gunther's arrogance. It appears he's pondering whether to slap the recruit, reach for his gun or direct his manners at the enemies of the Unioners. He decided to go with the latter.
"Right. So you have the balls after all. It sure takes some to talk like that to Der Schakal's Unioners; we hanged, electrocuted, flayed and burned many people like you. Hotshots who thought they can prove anything with their overzealous aggression..."
The Unioner sits back and takes a sip from his bottle.
"For some reason, I feel like you could be useful. Maybe it's due to the recommendations of my buddies, maybe it's because you have the guts to look into my eyes. I dunno."
He leans back and looks at Gunther with a calm, threatening demeanor.
"But if you pick up a tone like that with anyone with a ship, they'll impale you to one of the radar spires on Wedel."
He nods towards a hallway.
"That way to the docks, hotshot. You'll find a slaver ship moored there, the Black Joke. Tell Captain Dressler that Kaspar sent you and he'll take you to our turf. Be careful not to get entangled with the slaves though... no matter how much they beg for help, lest you want to become one yourself."
As Gunther departs, the recruiter shakes his head and murmurs to himself -"school, he says.... heh... school... what an idiot..."- then goes back to sleep.
