I think YX Engines should have a more noticeable differences overall, because it is an engine made inside Borderworlds - and Long Range Engines are the Borderworld-made engines.

Reffering to this , it reaklly has a tiny bit of difference, maybe in colors, but bare noticeable imo.

I would like to see a bit more variation between those 3 engines, that's true.

Basically we have the following engine types:
- Libertonian
- Bretonian
- Rheinland
- Kusarian/GMG
- Gallic
- Civilian
- Blackmarket
- Gallic unlawful
- Border Worlds
- Edge Worlds

I would also like to see a Maltese and Corsair engine too. But more of them would clutter things and thus are not needed.

Corsairs are using the Edgeworld engine, Outcast .. I have no idea, probably Borderworlds , So I doubt there are separate ones needed for them, but the CTE and the BW do look pretty much alike.

I think Zoner engines being dark "hollow" red would make sense, since Zoners and Xenos share tech. And would be a likely variant of the Edge World engine.

We don't need Zoner engines. Just OC and Corsair ones. Less powerful factions such as the Zoners or Mollys or Core do not need a separate engine. Because the whole thing would lose its charm.

(I also added in my post some engine types that I forgot to mention)

Xenos, OC and Zoners use the very same YX engine, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe it being more OC-origin engine would make it a bit better?

We can also remove this idiotic assumption of faction/house/whatever-based engines and just have New Haven sell all of them as a way of customising a ship. And then add as many as needed - more variation = more fun. It already has pimpship so I mean...

Outcast engine?

Hmm... now why would that sound familiar...
