The behaviour of these individuals is not representative of the Corsair nation. To speak frankly, this probably occurred because of one of two factors;
Individuals described where AFK
Individuals where morons.
Personally, I don't feel anyone representing the nation as a whole needs to apologise.
Part of being a Corsair is learning to accept that at least one third of the players carrying the same ID as you will have little grasp of decent conduct, RP or even server laws.
After New York, Gamma is one of the most likely places to encounter players who have no desire to play their role. It's something you get used to.

No, give them a break. If they didn't want to fight, they didn't have to. Calling them morons? Don't be stupid, this is still a game. They were outmanned and outgunned by the same old Bounty Hunter squadron of death (Praefects suck, they would have lost) and they probably didn't feel like dying in a blaze of glory this time. You know how much that happens?
Honestly, let's just call the people who didn't feel like fighting morons who have no grasp of RP! Huzzah, we pwn!
this is a sad thing, but last night i was on gneisenau when orin here was about to get pummeled by a pasing navy convoy, and i quickly turned away and RPed i had to get to a rest room on alcatraz. is this any different?

No.
Those that dont fight in the Corsair nation for reasons akin to cowardice would not have passed the entrance exam to adulthood, that is, retrieving an artifact from the Kappa-hole area. Its a graveyard of dead Corsairs there for a reason. If by chance they did, then a position on the frontlines of the most active battlefields would await them. First wave, first rank, the first to die.
I firmly agree with Carlos here. Whether the equipment sucks or not, protection of the home planet is worth dieing for. Remember, in 4.83, we used to have Huntresses, so the Praefect is an improvement compared to that.
No way, we would have been owned. I ran too, giggling all the while.
"open da bay doors! I dont think Ima make it!"
Edit: McNeo: No, stop being so elitist. Yes, if this was real. Guess what? It's not. Roleplay or not, this is just a game. If you don't feel like playing, you don't have to.
Elitist is a term that people bandy around when you've nothing better to add.
If you wish to cloud your own judgement by accusing me of being something im not, go ahead.
But, what is ROLEplay if you aren't trying to play a ROLE in a universe that people pretend is real. Whether it is or not, if you want to play as a character belonging to a faction, adhere to their basic nature. If you wish to roleplay as a coward, that is fine. But if you "dun wanna di cus big bh ships pwn" then I dont really accept that. If you call my rejection of such concepts "elitist", then it shows what little perspective you use in your judgement.

Order pilots don't use Cardamine o.O
Anyways, I think that if the players don't want to fight, and in this case obviously die, then it's their choice. Come on you guys, you've dealed with heavier OoRP before, haven't you? Some things are worse than others, and this isn't one of them.
Also, not everyone that isn't you is dumb, McNeo. Plenty of people here RP well most of the time, and a couple things like this shouldn't make you call them stupid.

THEY TOLD ME I COULD BE ANYTHING SO I BECAME A SIGNATURE PLS HLP
Well, saying someone is dumber than you just because they don't RP as much as you, well... that's like saying someone is dumber because of their age. Maybe the person was just tired of dieing at the hands of BHs, because they tend to storm Gamma a lot, or maybe he was tired of charging into battles that he will inevitably lose. Maybe he was just being a coward, but listen, does it really matter that much to you? Especially since you wrtrn't there. RP is important, but think about what the other is thinking too...

I called you elitist because that's exactly how you're acting. If you want to say "You said elitist, therefore you have nothing to add." you're horrifically wrong.
Tell me the difference in this, kind sir:
A KNF gunboat rolls into Leeds, the BAF responds with a defense fleet of one battleship, three gunboats, two cruisers, four fighters, and two bombers. No contest. RP dictates that the battleship command say, two gunboats and a bomber to effectively neutralize this threat. That would not waste resources unnecessarily, and it would eliminate the enemy with little damage to friendly forces.
RP -would- dictate that, but this is a game. If the Bretonian side had some sportsmanship and class, they might send one gunboat and a fighter, or two bombers, or if they were really cool about it, and making it a fair fight, one gunboat!
RP is God here, but not to an "elitist" degree. When you decide not to do something, that's your choice, and you're entitled to it. This is a -game-. They would have died a fiery and valiant death to the BHG attackers, and if they chose to, great. If they didn't? That's fine as well.
You cannot force your holy standard of RP on others unless it conflicts with server rule.
