Avoid the mollies (never did trust a bunch of guys calling themselves girl's names...) The =CR= are ok, but, well, their dyed-in-the-wool BSG fans...
You could join Bowex or the BAF, but if its trading AND fighting your after, why not join the WT.... all our traders get free escorts, and our fighters get tasty ships, weapons AND monthly pay too!
I have read your faction proposals and there is none, that I would consider inappropriate, but I thought I could get familiar with Disco by creating a character's background first and giving him time then to develop himself and find his place in Sirius. With creating "Quasimodo" it is not important to me which faction he will finally join. I will adjust his attitude and change his ID (if possible) when I run online into players who are interested in roleplay and teamwork. His bio is fixed and there are only a few factions he would never join, but I do not think, that most factions would have public placards of recruitment and affairs in a real Sirius. I can guess, that it is not very comfortable to repeat goals, attitudes and affinities of the own faction to newbies online, but a character should experience some kind of "first contact". Recruitment is best when played online :-)
