You have a ambitious and near impossible task to set forth on. Your requests for a AI to command, control, and engage in warfare on a Dreadnaught. This is something short of making a sentient AI. I would suggest you use remote piloting, If your wanting use a AI for the sole purpose of keeping crew out of harms way.

It is far easier and quicker to refit a ship for remote piloting, weapons, and engineering. But one well placed shot could easily render the vessel inoperable either if AI or remote piloted. The down side no crew aboard to react to damage control.

AI work great when you do not have to over task them for say Transporting, running Cruise ships. or a Snub fighter. They have limited operational tasks. Once you add multiple layers of operations. This increases the failure rates. The Time needed to fit a vessel with such a system would take at the least 2 years and with out proper R&D of sub system testing under every condition the vessel would be put under would possibly leave you with a half working ship in the middle of when it is needed.

Your advices are noted and appreciated. However we are certain that IRG can handle our "problem".

It is not about eliminating crew element at all no. Just reduce the crew to in case of emergency type of thing, plus marines for guarding against boarding actions. If AI were to fail, crew would man the relevant parts and operate the ship manually.

The reason I have been silently watching how the conversation develops on this channel is because I can't say much more what has already been said: utilising artificial intelligence for tasks of this extent and granting such authority and power for a single AI unit is not advised.

Gallic history has its own catastrophes resulting from incorrectly calibrated or programmed AI units going rogue, or even just executing a wrongly phrased order. The scientific community of Gallia generally refrains from using or experimenting with artificial intelligence above a certain level of complexity and authority due to the negative experiences of the past. Your aims seem to be well above that level, thus I urge you to be cautious.

On the other hand I will keep track of the conversation in this channel, and if positive results, eventually complete success is achieved, I'll bring this case forward to our own scientists for consideration of taking up such subjects once again, of course in collaboration with Sirian experts of the field, some of whom might easily be present here.
