"A simple yet effective descriptions of yourself," Doc replied with a smile, "If only such a description of me would be so easy. I am guessing that it would take all night and tomorrow to get through."
He ignored the comment about the Nomads. It was something he kept quiet, the research going on in their regards, the study of how they behave and why. Well, the why he got. The how was the mystery. The less people that knew of his work the better. The Gallics? That was a bigger concern at the time. Somehow, he tied the two together.
"The funny thing is," he explained, "The Gallics do not yet know just how much of a threat the Nomads are. Nomads are not stupid. For example, they will let rival groups slug it out in the Omicrons and then make easy pickings of the rest. Even they know that people seem to forget who the real threat is. The Gallics, for all of their might, feel that their equipment is so far superior to that of anyone that they would be blinded by the encounter. Only when they find people in escape pods becoming human subjects would they see it."
Doc then snickered. "I have never said this to either the Bretonian Crown or the Gallic Crown but they are not so unalike. Both equate birthright to leadership which is something I find laughable, both are ruled by pride, both are bent on conquest and both could be facing annihilation and would still refuse to give up a lost fight."
He then took a sip of his Scotch and then looked at Karin, "Unless, of course, I am missing something somewhere."
Then he was more honest with her, "I see the Gaians as just wanting people to leave the planet they call home alone. The Gallics missed a chance at a good ally."
