Interesting concept, I'd hoped to see something like this appear for Malta. The Corsairs went with Custodi and Apostatas which are/were both excellent examples of strong understanding of a vanilla faction taken in an interesting, and credible, direction. I really wanted to see a similar effort towards Malta ; good on you ! I wish you good luck and I hope that you manage to garner attention.
One question however, which you can probably guess ; what beef does the Republica have with Gallia ? The Orange Dream is the primary reason Gallia resents the Maltese. That another Maltese entity not hellbent on spreading Cardamine whatever the cost would appear is something that would interest Gallia greatly. I could imagine a good deal of negotiation, backdoor meetings and mutual suspicion/common interests cropping up between us. I for one would see no reason to pursue ardent hostilities with the Republica given its agenda.
EDIT : NVM ; just found out about your information page, and noticed the Crayterian/Council alignment. Ah well, was worth a shot !

Oh, you restart 72nd with a new writeup and more fleshed out. I was wondering when you actively appear again. Looking forward to interactions as GC or during the odd appearance of the Maltese Exiles once again. Good luck, have fun.

The problem with that statement is the nature of Cardamine itself. It's present in the biosphere everywhere on Malta, and everyone living there develops a permanent dependence on it, even if they've never used it for its psychoactive properties. The only people who wouldn't be addicts (not sure addiction is the right word here, but let's go with it) are ones that have never been to Malta in the first place.
Real quick, addict can be interchanged with 'dependents'. Was late when I wrote that reply, so.. yeah.
Next..

The people who comprise the Republic aren't merely Maltesians who resent the way their homeworld works, but are also people outside of Malta who have been negatively effected by it. Some are dependent on it, yes, but there are those who aren't. Those who are get their treatment, be it either via stabiline or cardamine purchased from dealers in Crayter or elsewhere. I hope this helps clear it up, or gives a better explanation than above.

We're more RP centric than that. As I said, I have a high bar set for this, so the only faction will likely see any 'two line, shooty pew pew' will be the NC- if anything, though it's a stretch.

Cheers, mate. Would've been, but the RP environment says otherwise. Hoping for good pews, though.

Likewise. Definitely looking forward to it.

Aren't you basically about the same thing anyway?
Not really, no. The MOA are anti-Malta, yes, but they're more along a path of terrorist-induced rebellion instead of actively working to undermine the Maltese leadership. In addition, this thread was a fairly strong message to the Republic that working alongside the MOA would be bad for a public image, which is part of the reason why the Republic works to keep theirs clean. Working with the MOA would effectively neutralize their legitimacy with the Maltese populace even more than it is already.
Add into that the alleged slaughter of thousands of innocent people, which is counter-intuitive to the Maltese ideal that life is sacred, and it paints an even clearer picture.
That said, I have nothing against the MOA. I think it's a nicely thought out faction idea and we hope to have good, lasting interactions with them, but the Republic's RP is shaped by the world around it, and I don't really see them cooperating if stories like that can reach earshot of the Republic's people.
Cheers, all. Liking the feedback so far. Hopefully, can get some ingame feedback soon.
Ciao.
The Republica de Malta has a wiki page now. It's still under construction, but should provide another avenue to read the faction's information condensed together.
There is a link to the page on the info page underneath 'Faction Info'.
Lipari Colony information page posted. Department of Colonial Affairs and Department of Education table boxes now link to that thread for quick info (since it's in stories and biographies instead of unOFL Factions and Groups).
