I like it when NPCs chasing you give up and return to their patrols. It's become rare, now, but I could never get enough of the gravelly bandit voice going, flustered : "FORGET THIS. We've got better things to do." I once heard a female NPC say something like "Forget this. Patrols don't just do themselves, you know."
Been ages since I last heard these. I like how NPCs can simply stop caring about you, a far cry from the usual heroic, relentless aggression once an NPC catches wind of you.
