That's why. People's interest in Nomads is pretty low because of the general attitude toward them and because learning the unusual way to RP, although very simplified, is always hard for the majority

Big wars, no, i think all the major houses are a bit burned out, border wars and insurrections sounds better, the Omicrons aflame, the RHA and Mollys kicking right off.

The great houses have been weakened from constant warring and attacks, local pirates, terrorists and freedom fighters are launching mini crusades at home. Many unlawful groups cooperating more than before, chaos but not full blown conflicts, terrorist and traitor hunting.
The great wars are over for now, time to deal with the wars at home.

Bretonia loosing all but complete control of Dublin aside from Graves station and the gate, complete loss of control, bit like an independent nation trying to be born
RHA solidifying their hold on their systems and raiding Rheinland,
Maquis/FLG raising merry hell in the Taus trying to secure areas and routes for trade and smuggling.
Outcasts and Corsairs maybe going crazy int he omicrons and some of the omegas, maybe pressing some of the liberty systems
Coalition stepping its game up in the southern houses and omegas.
whilst the order try to hold the line against nomads and wild.

I doubt either would allow it, hessians becoming coalition and vice versa.

Isn't the point of Coalition uniting all Houses under one banner? I'm pretty sure they would be all right with it realistically, since there isn't any real, hard discrepancies and differences between the two ideologies.

Wars and skirmishes both have the same issues. They provide activity for 3 days then die off because there's no incentive to log anymore. The only thing making skirmishes slighty better is that they don't make people go nuts after they lose 1% of their pixel power.
A nomad invasion of the houses does, though, sound cool. However... it'll probably end up having the same issues that house wars have.
For now, as some people pointed out, skirmishes are the only option.

This is true, and there is lots of compatibility there, RHA joining SC would make sense in a way, its more a case of the OF leaders objecting i suspect. would like to see Mollys and RHA join Coalition, given the amount they fight together bringing the Dublin system into a major dispute between bretonia and coalition/mollys

Major Nomad Invasion: Boring

True, but imagine if we got to sun crush NY. Doubt it would matter due to "lmao story" and "fairness for factions", so probably would still be boring. But it's fun to dream.

Interhouse wars have not mattered since Bretonia was bullied into inactivity. All of Kusari's last few wars were ties, which killed motivation to log. No one wants to fight Liberty's plot armor. Rheinland is struggling with being hurt in every single one of its limbs. Gallia has apparently turned back to the government bearing all of the warcrmes and the blame for the largest genocide in human history. Last time I was even able to convince myself that a war was fun, it was Zoners vs Bretonia. Later I found out that it was like the 3rd biggest oorp squabble in Disco history, and that I was the only one that enjoyed it. There are a few firmly based factions that have had little development recently, and the only one that's gotten much attention is Mollys. There are interpersonal issues with a few of them, but it doesn't change the fact that these factions need expanding upon in multiple sectors that we honestly can't trust story to do. For some of them, we can't trust the associated factions to do it either.

War can spam activity if it has proper buildup. Currently, only the Rhein civil war had that, and it was still pretty abrupt. You want a war? Get some official factions to start a reasonable beef, deteriorate relations at a rate that makes sense, and get yourself a war. Nomads won't fill your little thing because for Nomads to be antagonists in the way they're present in the story, they need to actually be superior, and given the nerfs, no one actually wants that. Fighting nomads in the campaign was an uphill battle, and the way that they were actually beat was a surgical strike at a vital artery with a "see all, end all" button. Nomad invasions will not work for your activity spam because no one wants to fight nomads. They just want to beat nomads.

A war is like a release gate on a dam. You need a build up. You can't just keep pushing release and expect a flood every time.

I'm not sure what is Coalition *right now*. Of course, for the majority of those who don't care for details, they're communists, but in reality, there is almost nothing communistic except memes in them. Previous OF of Hessians used to push the socialistic line, while RHA didn't show any political programme (at least I've seen none)

doesn't help the prevalence of GMs, devs and influential people in OF leadership positions, this is not likely to change.
