Levan, I'm sorry.
I didn't mean to fucking lose it there but I meant it when I said there was a reason.
I know I have no right to ask it, but I swear if you just hear me out, I'm hoping you can understand why I reacted the way I did. If after you want to be done with me then... I understand.
I've no idea if this line still works, but figured it was worth a shot anyway.
Anyway, I was thinking about the other day and, well, I realised something. You're right. My apologies don't mean shite with the whole "you'd be dead if I wanted you dead" crap.
And honestly, it probably isn't the only thing you're right about. I'm not even sure anymore if there was any nanobot's left, I think I just fucking kidded myself into thinking I wasn't capable of going to the lengths and doing the things I did on Leeds ever again and I just managed to convince myself that there were some there when there weren't.
Anyway, the point is you are right, on both accounts. So, for what it's worth, I'm sorry for /everything/ that I did there. I'm sorry that I lost control and hurt you and Yoshiko. I am sorry I almost killed you and Yoshiko, and I'm sorry for managing to fucking fool myself into thinking it went down differently, and I'm sorry I was such a shitty friend. And, for what even less it's worth, I'm also sorry that you, Mad and Mo have gotten tangled up in this mess with Harbinger and slash or Revenant.
I don't know for certain yet if it was Revenant, but I'll try and do everything I can to find out for you without blowing my cover. Because if Revenant was responsible for what happened in Cologne and it wasn't me accidentally triggering something by being near that collapsed jump hole. Well, if she was responsible for that, then that can't fucking stand.
Maybe that makes the entire situation a bit less complicated. Certainly not today, and not tomorrow, though. But... maybe, after some time.
Regarding Revalent, uhm, I am not entirely sure anymore. Kristoff is convinced that all of it was just a coincidence, but... it seems to constructed. Her warning me, those things appearing in the same moment, then her talking about Rheinland as if she knew I was there, and then shortly after, her appearing right in time for the second attack, her getting angry at me for not following her and all that. She wanted us to leave the secure area around the battleship so badly.
Regardless of all that, we pretty much all agree on her being our enemy here. What she does to Kristoff is horrible, and she and Kristoff use the same rhetoric to justify it. As long as that thing is in his head, he will keep changing his mind over and over again. Every time he is convinced that the Technomancy is bad, the flip switches and boom, he is coming up with excuses to return to the Citadel. Aspen has noticed that herself.
After a trip through Kusari to show me some big asteroid station, he went back to Inverness as he was told to get his head checked. I wanted to come with him but, uhm, Monique and Madeleine saw Curacao on the way there and, uhm, long story short, we are there right now, waiting for him to return.
Yeah, still plenty of other things muddying the water there that need to be addressed at some point, but, we'll probably have to completely and utterly unfuck current matters first before we ever get a chance to deal with those.
But regarding the Technocracy, that's why we need concrete proof, Levan. Because while we might have a solid theory, and a definitive motive on the why Revenant might do it, we can't undeniably prove that's exactly what happened. Until we have that proof, it'll be damned hard to convince Krissy otherwise, chip or no chip. Especially considering he's the type of person who was capable of forgiving my shite, and that the whole deal there with the Technocracy is generally just messy on an emotional level anyhow.
Still for the moment, we're going to be stuck waiting, if there is one thing I've learned these past few months. Well, practically anything to do with internal administration regarding the Technocracy is going to take time. So we shouldn't start worrying anymore than usual just yet, it just won't do us any good. And if the pleasantries of Curacao I've heard so much about aren't doing enough to distract you, I do hope they at least will distract Mo' from Baden Baden for a bit.
Anyway I was thinking of putting together a timeline of everything that happened at Heisenberg that day, and if you could give me the exact course of events from your side before me and Kris arrived, well it'd help keep things simple. Of course, no one will blame if you can't remember any of the exact times for anything and it's not immediately critical either, but it might help later down the line. Also it's something for me to do at the very least while I try and figure out my own end of things with the Technocracy.
Anyway, even if you can't put a time to anything we might be able to confirm one thing at least, that purple cloud that you saw? Do you think you'd recognize it if you saw it again?
Sorry, that turned into a bloody tangent. Look, take the time to R&R on Curacao while you can if you need it, I've got some other stuff that I probably ought to do in the meantime anyhow.
Since, he'll probably forget with the "errands" that he's running with Revenant occupying his mind at the moment.
I figured I should let you know I managed to catch up with Kris, he's alright, apparently nothing happened with that check up in the end.
And, I'm using this line, honestly I don't know why I'm using this over the group channel, but at this point I'm just going to send this anyway, so... yeah.
I'm assuming you've been keeping an eye on the group channel, if not, Mad's getting worried.
Wants to know what happened, and considering what we literally just talked about, if you're still not feeling up to talking to her, what do you want me to tell her?
I went to Heisenberg to look after Aspen. Lea finds me there and we talk.
Renavent contacts me out of nowhere and tries to intimidate me, tells me to not tell anything to anyone, talks about the Order out of nowhere. When that did not lead for her satisfaction, she warns me, tells me that I will get targetted and hunted.
At that point, unknown contacts show up on the sensors. I ask how she did that. She claims not know know anything. The contacts vanish.
I confront her about it and you and Kristoff move to Clown. As you arrive, Lea says she saw something purple.
We get attacked by the Sentinels. The mostly ignore everyone except me. My ship took like 100 hits of weird missiles!
We defeat them and Relevant is on her way. As she arrives, a considerably stronger Sentinel shows up and attacks us, again focussing the Kay.
Relevant insists on us leaving the system instead of seeking shelter at the battleship or staying at the station. She gets mad at me for not following her to the open, undefended area towards the gate to Studguard.
She disappears, and Lea and I stay at the battleship in Clown. All is fine.
Days pass. She does not know where I am, the Sentinels are not onto me.
I talk to Kristoff and he tells me he is in Delta. There is much noise, I barely hear what he is saying.
Renevant is with him in Delta, they watch Zoners and Order fight against Sentinels.
I argue with Kristoff, tell him I do not want to bear this anymore since he does not leave the Technomancy.
I leave. Renevant knows we were heatedly arguing.
You call code red. Kristoff got grabbed and turned into the next key. The rest you know.
The moment Renavent got what she wanted - me no longer being with Kristoff and thus not keeping him away from her - Harbinger grabs him to turn him into a new key.
Connecting the dots, I think we fucked up. I broke up with him, he then turns into a key for Harbinger's acopalypse secret weapon Revanent is so eager to get her greasy fingers on.
We fucked up. Me by playing into Revanent's hands and breaking up with him, and you by not killing them when you had the chance.
You want the bitter truth instead of sweet lies? Maybe the Order and Section Eight are the good guys here? Or maybe they are the lesser evil. Relevant is literally working with something called Harbinger to unleash something Harbinger wants. Do you think Harbinger has any interest in mankind? Do you think Relevant can beat Harbinger when they open the vault?
Unless you find a way to get Kristoff out of Renevant's hands, we are fucked.
